Especially coming off the heels of what I believe is the strongest TF movie, Dark of the Moon. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm just here like "did we see the same movie?" I legitimately took a friend with me to see that, PAID for his ticket, and then with the gloomiest face and heaviest of hearts, apologized for having wasted 2 hours and some change of his time. That one really left a bad taste in my mouth. Not as bad a taste as the racist twins and robot testicles in Revenge of the Fallen

Kinda like a lot of superhero movies are for me. 2 & 4 were really, really rough though. 4 especially. Bay's good at what he does but he needs to shorten his run times. A LOT. I still shut Bad Boys 2 off before they go to Cuba or wherever.

Also annoyingly, the movie just sort of...ends. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm just here like "did we see the same movie?" I honestly really enjoy the first Bayformers. It was goofy most of the time, but it was a fun dumb popcorn film. The initial interactions between Shia and the Autobots are pretty funny.
Revenge of the Fallen sucked out loud. The racist twin bots and the lowbrow humor was the tip of the iceberg, it's like Bay just mainly rehashed the first film and sucked all the sense of fun from it. The Linkin Park song was the only thing I liked.
The Transformers franchise will always be a favorite of mine, but that second film turned me off of the Bay series for good.

thought that they could have split the third one in two myself, having that right old cliffhanger ending part one!
they're fun and exciting and really like the first two, since i bought the 2disc dvd's of them

I will say that my favorite thing about the Transformers movies is that there is a lot of cast overlap with the Cohen brothers films. Like the movies are made by the third, stupider Cohen brother.

The first movie focused on actual Transformations. The first appearance of Optimus Prime was a thing of beauty.
The later films just ignore this for bish bash bosh action.
The problem is the same as a modern day Wrestlemania - it's a collection of forced moments.
The moment isn't organic, which is surrounded by a beautiful storyline - e.g. Darth Vader's fatherhood reveal.

Dark of the Moon was alspnpretty bad in my book. Since when is Optimus that cold hearted and vengeful and Megatron that big of a second fiddle sissy?

Who was it here that had a Transformers sig and a sentence along the lines of how much money the movies made and how great a time it was to be a Transformers fan and then ended with "bless you Mr. Bay" or something? I could never figure out if they were serious or not and i'd like their input

I don't exactly HATE this film, as I had fun with it in some areas, but in all fairness I would rather watch this over the second one. However, I felt that dragged on for a little too long and I did not like how the Dinobots came in two hours into it. Of course when thinking about Revenge of the Fallen, I was more annoyed with that film for a lot of different reasons.
I enjoyed the first one okay and the third one was mostly just average to me, although I did like the freeway chase part and the big hour-long climax. I don't like them enough to want to add them to my collection.
I will add that I am not really looking forward to The Last Knight. I would mostly see it on a day when I am bored or something, but I am not planning to see it on opening weekend. Although a part of me wonders if the duration will surpass Age of Extinction. I can't imagine a 3-hour Transformers film, but it's Michael Bay, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Why do these movies have to all be 2+ hours?
You could watch any other horrible movie twice in the time it takes to see a TF movie
