Pretty much. I'd be like putting the title on Barry Horowitz in 1995. Yeah, he had a hot couple of months, but still.....no one's that f***ing stupid. I don't want to compare Mahal with Horowitz, but you can make the argument that most wwe fans know Jinder as the guy who got his ass kicked by Gronk a non wrestler. Solid point: Horowitz could actually look competent in the ring.

Honestly people can hate on Jinder all they want but after listening to his Talk is Jericho podcast I'm super happy for him, because the dude sounded like he was at a terribly low point after he was fired the first time, this just shows that you don't give up. DDP said he'd never be world champion, Dusty Rhodes asked then what the hell was he doing it for? In wrestling, everyone fights to be the champion no matter what. Even if it never happens or seems unlikely, it's the dream. And for a guy who no one believed in, I'd say it's pretty sweet But Page didn't win the belt overnight, he actually improved and got legitimate over. His growth was organic and wasn't rushed. Mahal allegedly won it because they want to make money in India. And like...even if it's sweet for Mahal, I don't get invested in a narrative because it's nice that a performer is succeeding. I need working plot, motivations, etc. And this narrative and character are less than paper thin. They wanted him to win and he did. It's nothing. Like if I'm watching a shitty movie I don't go "I enjoy this because isn't it nice that these actors are getting paid?" I'm more like "this sucks and I don't want to watch this."

This has got to be the worst night in Bret Hart's life. Actually, it probably is. That's the same prestigious championship he held. The same one that eluded Razor Ramon, Roddy Piper, Owen Hart, Ted Diabetes, Mr. Perfect, and countless others over the years. If Jinder can win it after jobbing up until literally like last month, where's the standard? It clearly doesn't matter. Give the f***ing thing to Headbanger Mosh. Ted Diabetes?!!?!! Yes instead of Virgil he has Victoza.

Hey WWE I know you're trying to make money in a country where you're expanding to right now, but I'd just like to point out you also have Pete Dunne signed.

Good for him. Bottom line: What does that do for my entertainment dollar?

Give the f***ing thing to Headbanger Mosh. Someone hook up their old PS1, fire up WWF War Zone, and play that career mode thing with Mosh and YouTube that bitch. We need to see it now.

Well let's see if Mahal can beat Kevin Nash in the lowest drawing ever wwe champion list In all seriousness, it can't be a fair comparison. The only thing in common between these runs are Nielsen ratings, and even those can't tell a full story anymore.

It's actually a shame this attitude towards pushes wasn't around in 98/99. Bart Gunn could have had a legit shot at the WWF Title.

Yes instead of Virgil he has Victoza. I work as a Pharmacy Technician, so I found this especially hysterical.

But Page didn't win the belt overnight, he actually improved and got legitimate over. His growth was organic and wasn't rushed. Mahal allegedly won it because they want to make money in India. Pushing a guy to make money off him is the whole point of everything though. Page proved before he got the belt that he was drawing. It's safe to say tonight was the first time of Jinder ever main eventing anything in his career. With Page there were bigger odds of being successful. Mahal isn't a proven commodity and could be the biggest gamble ever.

And they built Holly for months and actually had other guys like Big Show job to him. Jinder literally went from Jobber to champion pretty much without explanation.

Pushing a guy to make money off him is the whole point of everything though. Yeah, people tend to lose sight of the fact that WWE is a business trying to make money. Don't get me wrong, not everything they do has that end goal, some of it just seems to be for Vince's personal enjoyment. But not in this case. If Jinder increases WWE's popularity in India, then it's a success and you can't fault WWE from a business perspective.
