I know many people hate Jaws but I will always defend that game it is playable.

I agree about Jaws. I thought it was fun. You just had to understand how to play it. I felt the same way about Deadly Towers. However I never really learned how to play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde so that game was no fun for me.

I don't think the people who made Jekyll and Hyde could explain it

There's a lot of "so called" bad games;
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 - only problem with this game is it needs more continues
Street Fighter 2010 - once you get used to the controls, it's wicked fun
Jaws - innovative for it's time, still holds up
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - Rare developed it...did you expect it to be easy?
Solomon's Key - only issue is lack of continues that Fire N Ice had
Fester's Quest - hard but fair
Vice: Project Doom - awful awful cover art aside, it's very fun
Day Dreamin' Davey - flawed but fun
To The Earth - one of the best Zapper games out there
Kid Niki - IREM almost always did a good job, so I don't get the hate
Castlevania: Simon's Quest - bad reputation for all the wrong reasons
Rygar - this game would be perfect if there was a save function. Tecmo made some unforgiving games, but this ranks up there as one of the hardest - harder than Ninja Gaiden IMO.
Kiwi Kraze - I've met people who mock the game based on the looks, which is ridiculous since it's a lot of fun.
Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom - another great game mocked for it's design
Metal Gear - MGS purists criticize the game for bastardizing the MSX version which is absurd. Not only was the NES fine with the jungle levels, but the success of the North American NES release of the game was what allowed for the franchise to stay alive. Metal Gear was a FLOP in Japan on the MSX. Which brings me to...
Snake's Revenge - again purists mock the game, even though many people never played it. This game kicks so much ass, albeit it is pretty unforgiving at first...it's still well worth the time. I may even say it's better than Metal Gear. This kept me far more engaged than MGS4 ever did.

Agree about Rygar. That game rocked. I was so happy when I finally beat it. It definitely needed a save option. It took so long to get through it.

Fester's Quest. The biggest problem people have is starting from the beginning after a game over. WELL DUH! If you just started back where you came from when you died, you'd still have to go back to reload your items and you try to beat the spaceship without Lurch's help and see how far you go.

I don't know if MC Kids is 'bad' or what the perception is, but I loved it.

I don't know if MC Kids is 'bad' or what the perception is, but I loved it. Not sure if people consider it bad. Like, it's definitely strange, but it's a pretty good platformer in a time when there were a ton of questionable ones.

Monster Party. Don't know if it's really considered bad but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Such a bizarre game.

Castlevania 2. I like it just as much as the other Castlevania games. Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout. Fun platformer, certainly has its flaws, always enjoyed it.

Even the AVGN admits that Simon's Quest, despite its flaws, is enjoyable.
Street Fighter 2010 was alright. It was brutal, but alright.
I never got the hate Battletoads got for its two player mode. I found that the best part. Hell, if nothing else the fact that you can hurt your partner makes it better.
TNMT was fun. It had some things I would change, but otherwise I don't see the problem with it. Well, at least until I am stuck with just Raphael and Michaelangelo. Then the game blows.

I would only use Raph in areas where I needed to take damage. He was also my go to in the not so challenging water section.
Mike was good against the mousers in level 2 and he had some decent ground attacks. In the end, he was leagues better than Raph but doesn't hold a candle to Leo or especially Don.

Agree about Rygar. That game rocked. I was so happy when I finally beat it. It definitely needed a save option. It took so long to get through it. To this day, my brother has a tradition every Thanksgiving that he must play/win this game. (He got it for his birthday one year, which happened to fall on the holiday.) Dude is 40. Hasn't missed a year.

I've never heard Rygar considered a bad game.
For as bad as they were, I played Total Recall and Terminator 2 a -LOT- as a kid.
