I wonder if they're contemplating rebooting after. I don't think it's crossed their minds for a second. They've got more stories than they know what to do with, and chances are they'll acquire more of the missing IPs before the middle of the next decade. No need to reboot when the well isn't even close to running dry.

I still think we're getting the Thunderbolts in Phase 4. I think the Avengers will disband for a while after Avengers 4. The government offers Zemo and other criminals an offer they can't refuse: be heroes and you'll get your freedom.
Naturally Zemo has other plans and the team defeats him. Add in a post-credits scene with the Winter Soldier offering to lead them.

Yhey need to make a serious push to get Fantastic Four back, as the family unit is the perfect launchpad for the next "era" I really want to see a decent Fantastic Four movie in the future. If Marvel Studios can get the rights back, I like their chances to make a good Fantastic Four movie.

*Fingers crossed for Doctor Doom being brought into the MCU as the next big bad* I've been waiting for a true-to-the-comics, non-hacker Doom for a while. I'm all for directors/writers trying new things now and then, but classic Doom is so perfect for the MCU.

I want to see then get into "wacky" mode a little bit. Like a full 60's Batman Camp style movie. Or something lighthearted and crazy like... Antman, Dr Strange and Thor take Spiderman to Las Vegas for his bachelor party. They run into Captain America there an introduce him to drugs and hookers.
Maybe a Grumpy Old Men where aging Tony Stark, Banner and Pym go ice fishing.

Recasting the key roles is going to be very hard. The best way to do it will probably be to have the characters step away for awhile and cycle new actors in via cameos.
Maybe they would be better off just ignoring the characters entirely, but I can't see an MCU without Iron Man, Captain America and Thor

Phase 4 will be the purchase of all DC characters. Phase 5 will kick off with Superman vs Captain America Phase 6 they buy Toei. The Goku vs Superman movie ends indecisively and everyone loses their shit. Phase 7 they buy Hasbro, Iron Man and Optimus Prime team up. Phase 8 they buy Toho. Hulk vs Godzilla is the biggest blockbuster of all time. Here's an idea: Spider-Man vs Godzilla.Spidey does have a giant robot, after all. I know people would like Mile Morales in the MCU, I want Takuya Yamashiro!

I feel pretty strongly they will get even bigger in scope and "unfilmable" stuff like marvel zombies will be made. Without continuity perhaps just one off what if films. Also We will end up with the female Thor and Iron Woman etc. how do you replace rdj? Well you don't so bring in some hot young girl from a Netflix show like dope or dear white people and do the Iron Woman thing.

In related news, Zoe Saldana (Gamora) may have let slip the title of the untitled Avengers 4. Which Marvel won't announce yet as they've said it's a spoiler for what happens after Infinity War. Apparently Avengers 4 will be titled {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Infinity Gauntlet Also put the video where she says this in a spoiler too in case people don't want to know. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}

If you got Fantastic Four than maybe you can shape an alternate universe around Marvel Zombies like they did in Ultimate but it would be a waste of time and waste of a movie. I def like to see Netflix shows get some love in Phase 4. Have some of the characters cameo in a movie or something

Yhey need to make a serious push to get Fantastic Four back, as the family unit is the perfect launchpad for the next "era" PH4SE.Contrary to popular belief, Fox doesn't own the film rights to the Fantastic Four; Germany-based Constantin Film does since 1986(?), and they've licensed the rights to Roger Corman's New Concorde Films, as well as Fox. Which means that Constantin can work with Marvel Studios if either side is willing to do so.

Yea or even acknowledge their existence is passing references. Have Tony read a newspaper about things going on in Hell's Kitchen or something like that. Throwing Claire in the movies would help tie it all together as I am sure the Night Nurse can be helpful to them

I doubt the idea of maybe letting the MCU rest for a few years has crossed anyone's minds. Given how these films are rolled off an assembly line, maybe taking a five-year respite to allow people to actually miss the universe would be good for the Marvel brand. Perhaps more so if people like RDJ, Evans, Hemsworth, and Johansson walk away from the franchise, with whom audiences have been connected for almost a decade as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Black Widow.
That being said, we're also a week away from Marvel Movie #15. At this point, chances are that we're not going to get an unconventional camera movement, a performance with some odd choices, or a completely unhinged mise-en-scene. The MCU has a very clear 'house style'. I doubt that Phase 4 will be a radical departure--visually, narratively--come Marvel Movie #23. If anything is different, it will simply be the development of yet another IP, as much as an iPod isn't an iPhone, Black Panther also isn't Captain Marvel. Yes, they're different, but they're not *that* different.
I think the very continuity that people love with the MCU with be the thing that people start to dislike, especially when they haven't seen the 10+ movies that have come before Captain America 5 or Doctor Strange 3. Maybe if the movies start to embrace a 'what if' or 'elseworlds' perspective, such that movies don't have to be bogged down by continuity, that would be the way to keep the MCU fresh. Why not do one-off movies like Maximum Carnage, Demon in a Bottle, Cap Wolf, or Triumph and Torment, that have no cause-and-effect relationship with one another.
And while there's a part of me that would like to see Galactus, the Silver Surfer, Doctor Doom, Kang, Annihilus, and the Fantastic Four in the MCU, there's also a part of me that wouldn't want those characters in the MCU if they will be approached with the same kind of generic cinematic approach that Marvel Studios has applied to its other characters over the past 10 years. More of something can be better, but maybe more of the same just isn't worth it. Beside the worth of money, which yeah, I get, that's why Marvel is doing a Phase 4, but that is a prospect that I don't find to be that exciting. My entertainment shouldn't feel like homework.
