Godfather: Part III
Say this movie is any good and you're immediately torn to shreds but to me, whilst it's significantly the weakest of the trilogy, it's actually a good movie. Like, if it didn't have The Godfather title attached it would be remembered as a good, but not great movie. However because it does have The Godfather name attached and - with that - comes some serious expectations I think people's disappointment in it being less good than a Godfather movie is expected to be leads them to trash the movie completely, which is harsh in my view.

Star Wara Prequels were trash. And inferior in every capacity to the nostalgic TFA. Except in "world building" which is an argument i still don't get. Matrix sequels were inferior to the classic first one. Pirates sequels were dull and bloated compared to the classic first one. Big ones I can think of. Well, the thread isn't about bad sequels. It's about fanbases that denegrate those who actually like those. Saying that The Star Wars prequels, Just saying you enjoy ANY of them and they'll make your life hell.

I had a blast playing through Resident Evil 5 co-op. I can only assume the partner AI sucks in single player because otherwise I don't understand at all why anyone would hate it.

I played 5 at the advice of FAN, and all I play is the single player campaign, and I never once had an issue with the AI.

Mario Wii is controversial? I loved it and I thought the general consensus was that it was great. It's great on its own, but when compared to the other 2D entries seems to be ranked more middle of the road or "outright bad" on the very vocal subset of Mario fans that despise the New Super Mario series (which is something I don't really understand, but to each its own). But again, usually people say either the first Super Mario Bros, SMB3 or SMW as their favorites, followed by the SML2, SML3 and NSMBU and then comes the rest. Eh, I liked Sunshine, so I'm used to going against the grain with Mario.

I enjoyed the hell out of Tokyo Drift, the red headed stepchild of the Fast and Furious franchise. -Everyone. Sorry not trying to pick on you, but yeah with time somehow that movie has become pretty well regarded. I love it too.

Personally, I like Gundam Reconguista in G, which I know is a mess, but it's the series that gave me what I wanted in the franchise. But, because it was a mess and didn't have enough killing, it's an abomination. And I'm an abomination for liking it. I believe you misspelled SD there.

There are two franchises that are wildly popular that I only like one iteration each of. Both of those iterations are versions I NEVER hear the "Hardcore fan" of these franchises speak positively about: G Gundam and Star Trek: Voyager.

To be fair in terms of Gundam, the "hardcore fan" we are talking about here have a massive boner for the UC universe series and tend to look down on all of the AU Gundam series, you know the series primarily designed to get non-Gundam fans into Gundam because they aren't tied down to all the bullshit of the UC universe. G Gundam is massively loved by the non-UC universe fanboys.

I think it is (it's the lowest rated on IMDB anyway) I haven't seen it since it's release (2003) but aside from the 3 mains (Walker, Tyrese & Ludacris) is it even referenced in a later movie?

I enjoy the matrix sequels. Did they need ti be made? No, however I find the religious symbolism well done. Great fast moving action flicks

I see Mass Effect Andromeda turning into one of these for the more troglodytic members of the fanbase.

I think it has awesome highlights, but it is difficult to sit down and watch through because Domon is a shit head to Rain to the point of sometimes being uncomfortable. It also is a little overlong for the premise, for me, but I do really love parts of it. Voyager... umm, yeah, I do hate that. TNG and DS9 fan here, mostly.

You may also throw in fanatics of Iron Blooded Orphans to the gray; they gush endlessly about it and look down on those who have issues or just didn't like it.

It was the series I grew up watching. Even I have to admit it is the worst Trek series, with oftentimes terrible and inconsistent writing

I've never actually watched it. I've watched every episode of DS9 and Voyager because my wife and I binged them a year or two ago. I've seen every movie, but I've probably only watched a third of TOS and TNG.
