**** 3/4 easily! And amazing booking decision to have the breakup come immediately after a match which demonstrated everything great about Team DIY.
Great stuff all around.

I don't understand how Gargano wasn't legit seriously injured by that ladder shot. The whole ending sequence of the match was fxxxxing nuts.

Really great match but I'm getting pretty tired of every single AOP match ending in the exact same way.

A great match, but an even better ending. It's been awhile since there's been a turn that was done so well. Perhaps because they've spent so long setting it up, starting perhaps from their match in the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament.
It's kind of bittersweet though. With this both The Revival and DIY are out of the picture in the NXT Tag Title division. And Heavy Machinery, The Street Prophets, and whoever else comes along are all gonna have a hard act to follow in order to reach the same heights as those guys did.

not to sound like a sucker who bought it hook line and sinker but GOD I'm heartbroken over what went down post-match. Like, not only the stuff that happened in the match (Johnny diving in front of the ladder for Tommaso is gonna be in videos for the next decade), but that f***ing callback to the CWC with Ciampa pulling down the kneepad.

And now we'll never get the DIY/Hardyz/Revival/USAlpha 4-way ladder match that would have been the thing to finally get WWE 5 stars, if not more, from Meltzer.

JerichOwens was better, and pretty recent.

I really hope people are starting to realize on how underrated AOP are in the ring so far. They might be the guys that need help in being carried but they shown great chemistry and matches with TM61, Revival, and DIY. I hope they feud with DIY forever.
Edit: CIAMPA WTF!!!!!!

I just want to know who the f*** can even beat AOP with DIY gone now. I guess TM61 seems the most likely, but I don't know.

Authors of Pain seem to be graduates of the Road Warriors school of selling. As soon as they pulled the straps down, they just hopped out of the ring and left like nothing had happened.
Hated the ending at first because it was tiring to see DIY lose again, but I'm 110% here for Ciampa vs. Gargano.

I don't mind the AoP not selling because they are big scary dudes, so it kind of makes sense and also when someone eventually takes them down (I'm thinking Heavy Machinery?) it's going to make it a huge thing. As for Ciampa/Gargano. Strap yourselves in, it's going to be amazing.

I don't understand how both Gargano and Ciampa weren't seriously injured when they both overshot the double big splash spot (Gargano more the Ciampa). Both are incredibly lucky neither got a broken neck from that.

There is just no substitute for two big man teams, one of which are stone cold killers, and the other are the most likable and energetic fat guys you'll ever meet. Just just let them beat the shit out of each other.

It really is bittersweet. DIY and AoP have AMAZING chemistry together, and DIY play the outsized underdogs so very well.
It's great to have legit heel heat. The right kind. Not the kind they think they have with Roman. Not go away heat. But genuine boos and chants with swears towards Ciampa. That's how invested the crowd is. This is how you book a long term angle Vince.
Bittersweet also because I was hoping DIY would get called up, and to see those two on the main roster would have been just amazing. Instant face tag team the crowd can actually get behind.
On the other hand HELL YES to a heel Ciampa vs. face Gargano.
It's so 50/50. I'm happy that it happened, yet bummed out at the same time.
The match itself was fantastic. I don't think I've ever seen anyone sell a ladder to the face quite like Johnny did. I said "holy shit!" out loud. I thought he was at the very least concussed.
I questioned it going on last, but quickly took those doubts back 5 minutes in.
This and the UK match saved this Takeover.

Man I really hope AOP vs Heavy Machinery is some good old fashioned Hoss Action, from what I've seen from both they can really entertain in their matches, I'm just hoping it translated to one another.

The Authors of Pain have shown some signs of potential but Heavy Machinery just reeks of a cheesy 90s era WCW Saturday Night jobber team. The name even sounds like something from that era, like High Voltage or Maximum Overdrive, etc.

Heavy Machinery will be fine in NXT, but they're going to die a death on the main roster, where commentary will have to shout "THEY'RE HAVIN' FUN, TOM!" over and over.

Thought it started really slow but once it got going, it cranked it up to 11. Would still put the UK title match over it, but this was still worthy of the main event.
