It seems the last few years many have come along to liking it but this movie will always have a debate with people. When people bring up Studio Interference this will always be one of the first movies people bring up. Many have said The DC is much better don't know about that. As a kid I was a fan of Aliens so never was a fan of killing off Hicks and Newt off screen.
What say you what are your thoughts on the movie these days

I enjoyed it when I saw it in a theater opening night. And still enjoy it. I was happy they went back to the feel of the first film. And I know I am alone in this but I do not like Aliens. Hate how Cameron had to change it into a typical 80s action film.

Not a bad film.
But it can go f*** itself for making Ripley's rescue of Newt in Aliens just a big waste of time.

Witch Death scene of Ripley's did y'all prefer? The theatrical cut by far. I don't know why they felt the need to change her death scene at all.

riply's original demise, while holding onto the newborn queen, it's new version without it is pointless however all the other stuff in the NEW is totally worth it ask for the widescreen vhs for christmas that year and watched it THAT MORNING even back when the original teaser trailer came out i was interested in it

It gets The Godfather Part III treatment, in that it had to follow two absolute classics. It was never a bad film, it's a good film but it's unfairly treated by being nowhere near as bad as some people say. Again like Godfather III, time has treated it quite well in that it seems more people are now upgrading their opinions of it.

Killing off Newt is inexcusable to me. It was a difficult situation. Carrie Henn was 10 years old when Aliens was filmed, and would've been pushing 16 when Alien 3 went into production (even assuming they could've tempted her into returning to acting). Keeping Newt around as a young child would've meant recasting her, and the only other option to keep her alive would've been skipping the story forward a few years. While I did like the prison colony premise of Alien 3, it really wasn't very well put together.

I just like that they tried to reunite the Withnail And I cast despite being a completely different movie, and managed to get two of them in there in Ralph Brown and Paul McGann.
