Sony ceases production of the PlayStation 3.
Lets look back and remember; Last of us, Red Dead Redemption, LBP, God Of war, Journey, Batman Arkham series and many more.

I only got a PS3 about a year ago, after I already got a PS4. Don't use it nearly as much but still good to have and was able to build a big library very quickly with how cheap all the games are on it anymore.
That said hopefully with production ceased Sony finally gets off their ass on making PS3 games able to be played on the PS4. If nothing else at least PS1 games, them not being on there yet is completely ridiculous.

To be honest, I thought it had already happened - new games for both the PS3 and 360 seem few and far between these days.

Never owned one. Never even played one.
It was 2012 when it was finally time for me to join that generation, mostly for WWE purposes, because by then I wasn't that much into gaming. I didn't (still don't) hold much interest in today's shooter games and RPGs, mostly I play wrestling, fighting and sports games.
So basically, that All Stars Battle game was the only game on PS3 not on X-Box 360 that I wanted to play. So I chose 360 for the DOA games & Rumble Roses XX. And I think it was slightly cheaper.

Dang, barely got my first ever ps3 about a year ago. Though to be fair, I mostly got it for my boyfriend, and we got it more for streaming media rather than gaming. I don't know exactly why, but this news is bothering me.

Does that make Persona 5 the last PS3 game?

It was a good run. Though I upgraded to a slim later on, my launch fat 60gb model still works to this day. I bought it with SpiderMan 3.

Does that make Persona 5 the last PS3 game? nah fifa/sports games will still get released for a few more years and probably just dance 20xx will be the last few games for it.

Does that make Persona 5 the last PS3 game? Third Party Developers will still release games for the console, and hell Sony might even release a few. For context's sake, the final PS2 game released was Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, while the PS2 ended December 2012. This just means the console itself is out of production, but historically there will still be consoles new and used floating around for the foreseeable future, just the price is going to start fluctuating on them. They won't run the risk of getting really expensive until chains like GameStop stop carrying them though.

I owned a PS3 and an Xbox 360 at the same time for two years. I think I might have used the PS3 three times. Really wasn't impressed by it.
