Honestly if its selling the TV edit I don't get where the filmmakers get the outrage as its already been altered and you don't really here many complain about it at this point (save maybe the South Park guys as their movies only seem to run at 2 am if Comedy Central even does that anymore). If they are going further then yeah that's not great.

This may be an attempt by Sony to get its older movies into the Chinese market, as lately Hollywood has been bending over backward to get more of its movies screened in Chinese cinemas. Having said that, don't be surprised if the dialog is somehow revised to be 'politically correct' for the PRC.

TV-Edited movies can be so bizarre, this could lead to some hilarious scenes. I thought "Get in the fancy car" from the TV edit of 21 Jump Street was pretty clever, and shockingly within character. |
