Almost 2 years ago when i joined, i made this thread asking what everyone does.

Now almost 2 years later, and getting to know a lot of you better, wanted to ask again.

I'm still working as a forklift driver, just top of the scale in pay now.

Since January 2013 I've been the law clerk for two judges. It really is an entry level type of attorney job and I should have been out of here in two years tops, but I have zero networking skills, and little ambition. The judges deal with only one type of case, and I have essentially zero experience outside of this little bubble of law. I make about 45,000. Wife makes about 48, working for a university as an academic advisor.

I've been sending out cold applications, but have gotten very few bites. My law school grades were middling with none of the accomplishments employers look for. I have also been trying to target other government or non-profit jobs to keep working towards public service loan forgiveness, so I'm not applying to each and every job I see. I could probably get a job with the firms that practice in this narrow area of law, but I REALLY don't want to. The attorneys who practice in front of us have been there since I've started, so it is likely just another job I wouldn't be able to escape from.

I'd love to do something else than law entirely, but I don't know what that would be. What I really want is to move back home to Michigan and be with family again.

I'm a teacher. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade English (usually Writing most years). I have a dual certification in both General and Special Education. Most years, I teach Special Education because I like it better.

I also coach basketball. I'm an assistant coach for the girls varsity team at my school and will probably be taking over as the head coach of the girls middle school team next year. I also coach at a local AAU at various age levels.

Cool job. There's money in it. No two days are alike. What you do is honest. No corprate puppet on your neck. Just do it right and make your client happy.

I work in a call centre for the English Department of Health. I've been there five years this year, and only got into it because the job I was doing was removed in a budget restructure. As a result, I had to apply for various jobs within the Department.

The call centre job wasn't the first choice on my list, but it wasn't the last either. Whatever I was given, I decided I'd do it for a year and see how it went. It turned out to be very enjoyable in term of content and colleagues, and I turned out to be pretty good at the job too. Not bad considering it wasn't my first choice, eh?

I'm a power plant operator. I was at a plant for 16 years where I ran the boilers, turbines, generators and switch yard. But that plant was decommissioned ( permanently shut down) I kept a job with the company (same kind of job, same pay, same benefits) but different plant & city. But I'm at the bottom of the food chain now. Now I run the environmental equipment which is a dirty thankless job.
