I'll do it tomorrow. There's still so much stuff the other one has.  To be honest, that might be my most favorite Fluttershy gif ever. Just the thought of her getting so excited about the possible chaotic effects of Discord's tea makes me smile so much my cheeks hurt. |

Guess we'll have to wait and see. While it was nice that they avoided the subject of romance for the majority of the series, "The Perfect Pear" and (to a lesser extent) "Hard To Say Anything" showed that they can do good romance. And with Fluttercord's chemistry and history...why not? |

That episode also reminded me of something heard at Galacon during the Big Jim Miller panel. Big Jim basically mentioned that the show staff eventually took notice of fans' complaints that a large majority seemed to notice. The example he brought up was how many people complained how Spike behaved out-of-character in certain scenes, how he should not be portrayed this way etc.. When the staff went over the complaints raised, they saw that they do have a point and saw to it to avoid that thing in the future. I understood Big Jim's comment as perhaps the reason why Season 5 had the last real bad Spike episode ("Princess Spike") and since then Spike Episodes and his appearances have been pretty on point for the most part. In that context I can also see perhaps the development of Fluttershy developing more of a backbone since Season 5. I still remember that during the course of Season 4 some appearances by her left me feeling that not any of the lessons she learned seemed to stick with her (hence the drop of her from 2 to 3 for a short time in my rankings) but since Season 5 (especially her tough love towards Rainbow in "Tanks for the Memories") the writers seem consistent in not portraying her as such a doormat anymore. And without it, we would not have had the Fluttershy in yesterday's ep. |
