Great...the one person who has received the most publicity from the MYC so far has been Ronda Rousey, who has not competed in the tourney, nor has she ever wrestled one match ever. If this tourney is simply being used as a vehicle to push this Horsewomen VS Horsewomen match then count me out. I've become convinced Baszler's winning. Partly because whooaaa it'd be a big swerve since we know Sane is signed and Baszler's not!

Well, good on WWE for capitalising off GLOW...4 months after the show launched on Netflix.

Cast members from GLOW? I'm going to have a laugh if it's Alex Riley, Awesome Kong, Brodus Clay, and Carlito.

Hope Solo? Hope freaking Solo?
Oh, WWE, you may want to do some research on her. She's not relevant anymore, and she's even less popular than she is relevant, and that's not even getting into the whole domestic violence incident.

Just getting around to watching the new episodes. Didn't think much of episode 5 but shit, Sane/Belair was awesome. Kairi Sane if they don't f*** it up (I know big if) could be huge. Everything Bayley was supposed to be. She's a perfect face. And I am so impressed with Belair. For only having a years experience she looks great.

Sane hitting the ramp with her face off the top rope was brutal.
I will be very very surprised if the final doesn't end with an elbow off the top being "caught" in the choke outta nowhere.

Some Episode 6 thoughts:
That elbow drop from the outside Lacey Evans hit was smooth.
I wish Mia and Shayna had a bit more time. Fun while it lasted. Cool finish.

![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6c/WWE_Mae_Young_Classic_official_logo.png) WWE Mae Young Classic Episode #8 September 9th, 2017 | Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
And then there were four. Kairi Sane, Mercedes Martinez, Shayna Baszler and Toni Storm. Iโve finally reached the final episode of the Mae Young Classic before the live finale.
Mercedes Martinez vs. Shayna Baszler They were stablemates in SHIMMER. Shayna got heat after her actions following her win over Candice LeRae. Despite that attitude, Shayna shook hands with Martinez, which she hadnโt done with anyone else yet. They were tentative for the first few seconds, but Martinez then fired off shots, taking the fight to Shayna like nobody before. She had the first real bit of sustained offense over Shayna. Shayna turned things around with a series of gutwrench suplexes for two. Martinez escaped a knee bar and Shayna got free from a Regal Stretch. They traded strikes before Martinez hit the Fishermanโs Buster, but was too hurt to cover right away. Martinez fired off a bunch of suplexes, but had a second Fishermanโs Buster blocked. Shayna hit the falcon arrow into the rear naked choke. Martinez lasted longer than everyone else, but had to tap at 8:10. Very good, even match. It allowed us to see a side of Shayna where she didnโt dominate. They knew each other well and played off that. It was stiff and one of those matches where it truly felt like something important was on the line. [***ยฝ]
Mercedes and Shayna hugged after the match. Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Sara Amato entered the ring to congratulate the women and present Shayna with flowers.
Kairi Sane vs. Toni Storm These two know each other from STARDOM. As usual, the speed vs. size dynamic came into play. Toni went after the arm, looking to take Saneโs signature elbow drop away from her. Sane managed a huge cross body to the outside and ate a face full of ramp. There was talk of her suffering a concussion during the tournament and I could totally see that being where it happened. Inside, Storm fought off a Boston crab and brought out the hip attack. Sane came back and looked for the elbow, but Storm cut her off and got two on a great bridging Muscle Buster. Storm applied an awesome looking armbar, with Sane selling the hell out of it. Storm delivered the leg drop that won her the previous match, but couldnโt make the cover. Kairi nailed a desperation back fist and went up top. She clutched her elbow in pain, but risked it anyway. The elbow connected and Sane advanced in 12:23. Great match. Storm had a lackluster first two rounds, but delivered the two best matches in her final two outings. They told a great story. Storm had a game plan and it worked, with Saneโs elbow being taken out. She sold it very well and survived a lot, before risking it all to make the finals. The crowd was completely invested, adding to this. [****]
Triple H, Stephanie and Sara Amato gave Kairi the same treatment Shayna got earlier. Atop the stage, Sane and Shayna came face to face to build the finals.
Overall: 8.5/10. The big dump of episodes ended with the highest note. Both matches were given time to breathe and delivered. Martinez/Baszler allowed us to see a different side of Shayna and she impressed. It was also easily Martinezโs best performance so far. Sane/Storm ruled and was my match of the tournament. Sane is a star and WWE needs to get to work on signing Storm, because she can be one too. We arenโt getting the finals I wouldโve picked, but I certainly understand the choice.

I'm just getting to the Candace/Shayna match but I really dislike the emphasis on Candace being Johnny's wife. Like most people following this are already aware of the connection and it feels like a disservice to Candace.

Just finished watching the last four episodes: -Toni Storm is WAY too good for a 20 year old. She's going to be a star and I hope the WWE snatch her up in the future. -Bazler is growing on me. Her match with LeRae is my current favorite of the tournament so far. -LOVE LOVE LOVE Kairi. Just a great all around wrestler.
Can't wait for Tuesday night.

Like most people following this are already aware of the connection and it feels like a disservice to Candace. Agreed, especially since her interview was all "I'm not here because I'm Johnny's wife." She isn't (She's an amazing seller in particular) but they've tried to push the opposite.

I do have to have a little laugh at Kairi overrotating the elbow drop in the second round, because I tried the same way of doing it once and did the EXACT same thing.

She's only 21, so it depends on whether Stardom promise her a big push. They don't usually go all-in with foreigners though, and Mayu is getting the ace push at the moment.
