...This one was a doozy, wasn't it? It's going to incite some opinions for sure, digging more into the racist heelery well for material.
Like I said in the main SmackDown thread, I don't think that the man playing Jinder Mahal is a flaming racist himself (not so sure about the people writing it, but unless I'm 100% certain that they're using this to project their own alleged opinions, I won't say that they are), but I don't think that wrestling is the right avenue to tell that kind of story.
I think Nakamura had the right response to it all by largely no-selling it.

A pro wrestling crowd, A PRO WRESTLING CROWD, chanted "THAT'S TOO FAR". I desperately hope people backstage aren't like "WOW WHAT GOOD HEAT" because no. That was bad. The Jinder experiment needs to end ASAP.

I'm digging Jinder as champion. I mean I wouldn't be upset if bye lost the title to Shinsuke. But he's been pretty damn good especially where he is now from where he was a year ago.

He's a bad person deep down. Jinder says he has creative control. So whether he does or doesn't, I'd say he's responsible for not saying no.

I skipped SDL (like I skipped Raw) so I missed what happened. What did he do?

I skipped SDL (like I skipped Raw) so I missed what happened. What did he do? Casual racism directed at Nakamura for being Asian.

The Jinder experiment needs to end ASAP. In fairness tonights episode was in a more progressive city and the crowds themselves are more becoming more progressive in general. But regardless that promo was bad and Jinder's time on top is over. Time for the real stars to hold the title again. Give me Shinsuke, Owens, Styles, etc

I've never been more bored watching wrestling than I was watching that promo

I skipped SDL (like I skipped Raw) so I missed what happened. What did he do? "Behind your back, they'll say your hair was done by a dog groomer. Behind your back, they'll call you Mr. Miyagi." He also straight up yelled "GOZIRRA" on the mic last week and told him he looked like Pikachu having a seizure.

Judging the posts in the thread I thought it was something that was far worse but it looks like the same stuff. Kinda weird how last week's crowd laughed and cheered while this week's crowd was against it but I guess like stated it deals with how progressive the cities they're in are.

I do just kind of want to get one thing straight out of all this, just as a devil's advocate thing... All of this is a fictional narrative with fictional characters and/or fictional characterisations of real people, yes? Just like your average TV show. A lot of those feature racist characters as antagonists, just like Jinder Mahal is here. So why is it only in wrestling that the "actors" and the writers are accused of projecting their own supposed closeted racism into their stories, and not these other things? Is it worry that the crowd may react the wrong way depending on the town they're in? Because that's my main reason as to why it's a subject matter not worth exploring.
If Nakamura wins in the end, it's all a moot point, because the hero kicked the racist guy's ass and got his belt. If not, it ends up like Triple H v Booker T, where the racist guy wins and it's a real buzzkill.

This is quite possibly the most tasteless angle done in WWE since "Eddie's in Hell."

Can't say I disagree with the local reaction, though this does make me curious if we'll future chants from live audiences the company offends with something considered tasteless:
*Heel shames a diva for alleged promiscuity*
Crowd: Dude, not cool! Dude, not cool! Dude, not cool!"

They love things like this, hate blacks that aren't juking and jiving and love "good ol boy" characters.
