Tomorrow it's upon us and I personally can't wait. I'll get some Christmas cookies (yep, they are already out) a large soda and blow through the season in record time.
I'm glad I dicovered the show so late since I only had to wait a week between seasons.

I don't know what it is, and I can't really put my finger on it, but I've kind of been dreading "Stranger Things 2" since it was announced more than a year ago.
The first season was a sleeper hit and massive success, but I felt like it kind of petered out toward the end of the first season. On the whole, I thought it was really good, but I also think the show peaked in the first half and - without spoiling anything - sort of ran out of gas and went off the reservation in the second half. In particular, the third episode might be the best single episode of any Netflix original series that I can ever recall. It's a phenomenal piece of storytelling from beginning to end and it alone is enough to hook you in through the entire season.
I just don't know, I really liked the first half of season one, but was kind of letdown by the second half. Instead of being optimistic that they'll capture the success of the first half, I'm curiously pessimistic about the new season. I'll watch it, but I'm going in very guarded so I won't be too letdown if it's a disappointment.

I'll probably be taking my time watching it. Took forever to watch the first season anyway and for this time around it's got Odyssey to compete with for my attention and Odyssey wins that contest.

Count me in as someone who got into it late...didn't get into it till I saw the trailer for season 2...I'm determined not to binge watch it so that I can go from this straight into Punisher on the 17th.

I liked it and so watch season 2. That being said I think there were flaws that need to be addressed on season 2. This is the stuff I didn't like.
1. The role of the agency that was exploring the Upside Down was never addressed. I'm not saying we need to know everything about them. But at least let us know if they are the main villians who do bad things because they are evil or if they are responsible from stoping things from crossing between the Upside Down to the Rightside Up and they do bad things to prevent much worse things from happening.
2. The Mike and Eleven stuff at the end was just unnecessary.

That got addictive fast. Three episodes in it's midnight and I wanna pour through the rest until morning. However, I'll make an effort to stay to three episodes pr day.
I love reading the reviews pr episode and many are bitching about moving things along, give more answers and all the usual complaints. I love the concept of whole season available at once, giving you a chance to tell these people to shut the f*** up and watch the season faster if you're in such a goddamn hurry.
Must say the Hit Girl of television, 11, is still my favorite character though the kid with the teeth is a close second, he's freaking hilarious. And I love slow building mysteries which the show isn't afraid of. Though it's definitely the dormant 80's teenager in me that love this season so much.

3 eps in : They really captured that tomboy/wrong-side-of-the-tracks kind of girl with Max that would have been the sole survivor in a lot of horror movies. Pollywog was good but, {Spoiler}{Spoiler} the kid being so obsessed with Dart that he'd lie to his friends and 11 using her powers to hurt someone who did nothing to her were some really dark moments, in terms of character beats. enjoying it so far though. Some of the dialogue is a little corny at times, but nothing that detracts from the overall show. It is DEFINITELY hard to not binge this one, especially with the ending of ep 3 which was really well done.

I'm another who discovered the first series late, so I've only had a few months to wait for this. I've only caught the first episode, but it seems to be going off in different directions with some of the sub-plots (pumpkins, the bank robbers at the start using telekinesis) which isn't necessarily a bad thing...as long as they get addressed later in the series.
I'm always up for an affectionate 80s throwback, however, so I'll watch regardless.

Just finished episode 3. Trying to pace myself but every episode ends with a cliff hanger and I just wanna keep going. It's very good so far.

Six episodes in and the season just gets better. Last cliffhanger was epic but I turned my computer off before I could barge ahead, which was super hard. One addition to the cast has been rather useless but everyone else fits in like a glove. And boy are things ratcheting up speed and excitement.

I didn't think it was possible, but I think I love this season even more than the first.

That guy sucks.

A lot of people online hated "Lost Sister," but I really enjoyed it. By the end of that ep I was really torn.... {Spoiler} on the one hand I was on board with 11 leveling up to go back and help her friends but I was also ready for a Superpowered Sisters Vengeance Rampage that would've probably ended up back at the facility anyway. It was still a cool ending but I LOVED 8 and at least half her crew

The placement of the ep wasn't ideal, but still - an offshoot series with that character would be rad

The Beyond Stranger Things aftershow the Netflix also put up was chock full of interesting tidbits including: {Spoiler}A very, very early outline had Will being completely being taken over by Mind Flayer by episode four and what became Bob giving Will the speech about confronting his nightmares was originally Will killing Bob

It was still a cool ending but I LOVED 8 and at least half her crew I had a feeling a lot of people would complain about that episode. I enjoyed it. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} I don't mind stories going off on a tangent if it serves a purpose, and in this case it led to plenty of character development for Eleven/Jane. I do think that having Eight's group go back with her would have helped tie things together better, though. My only major complaint for this season is {Spoiler}{Spoiler} the Dustin and Dart stuff. I get that he's a kid, but if you lived in a town where there was a monster running around the previous year, wouldn't you be suspicious of any strange creature you found? That was really the only time I questioned the writing this season. I really liked that we saw new interactions between characters this year, especially {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Hopper and Eleven. Makes complete sense that he would take her in, since he lost his daughter and would have felt guilty about telling the Hawkins Lab people about her.

I have three episodes left. I don't know if I'll be able to watch it again until next weekend, but I am REALLY enjoying it so far. There's definitely no drop off from the first season and...I mean, I honestly think this season MIGHT be better than the first.
