Jericho is still a fun character but him being leagues above Omega as a worker? That's one of the most laughable things I've heard in a long time. Watch Jericho's pedestrian matches with Kevin Owens this year or maybe the Reigns stuff before that and then watch Omega/Okada, Omega/Naito, Omega/Ishii, etc. Omega doesn't get me invested in his matches at all I mean even Omega vs Juice or Omega vs Barretta were imo better than anything Jericho put out in a long time. Jericho had done such a good job of making The List and his friendship with Kevin Owens was fantastic, but I can't really say that he's had a better match than Kenny Omega in the past 12 months, unless I missed something.

Buildups were solid, can't ask for much more.
-Henare vs. Ishii, oh my God I need more of that right the hell now. Henare lost a lot of time with that injury, looks like they might have both him and Kitamura on the fast track to moving on from Young Lion-dom; Kitamura might end up skipping excursion due to his age, but the Ishii exchange in the second show, man, Fale seems to know how to pick the Kiwis to suggest to Gedo.
-A little disappointed that Ishii and ZSJ are in the 6-man gauntlet; would've loved for them to do a Rev Pro title match. Have to remember, though, that Ishii is about 40 and works more consistently than just about anyone else in the company who's full time in Japan, so it's possible he's banged up and they're looking to let him take it easy an save up his energy for bigger singles matches in 2018, e.g. another shot at Naito if he's champ.
-Like I said before, while I like both Goto and Suzuki I was initially pretty disappointed that they were just going back to the well for a third match between them instead of doing something more creative with each guy for the Dome. I'm happy to say these two shows got me more on board, both guys did some really nice work to hype their angle up; still wish they had tried some different ideas, but I feel a lot better about that match now. Felt a bit of a NWA throwback with how they handled it, including the hair stipulation and letting the two guys rip on one another; good factor in hyping it was Goto's selling, felt a lot in 2017 like he oversold for his opponents' offense at times, but this was a good balance of selling the danger of Suzuki and hyping up his own fighting spirit.
-Confirmed in backstage promos: Yujiro is an honorary Tongan brother.
-Okada's character work selling his frustration with Naito is great, and really establishes how important he thinks the match is. Crowd's going to be nuclear for the main event.
EDIT: Also, how could I forget? I never knew the size of the empty void I had in my life until I had it filled by the video that accompanied the great and mysterious HORSE MASK. If you haven't watched his promo from night one with the closed caption subtitles on, you're missing out.

Personal preference. I know I'm in the minority but as I said earlier, nothing about Omega's matches grab me. Nothing about Jericho's had for a while until this year, but the Owens stuff means Jericho has entertained me far more than Omega in the ring.

So Jericho goes above him on that basis.

-Okada's character work selling his frustration with Naito is great, and really establishes how important he thinks the match is. Crowd's going to be nuclear for the main event. We've seen Okada do some good heel/cocky work in his matches over his title reign and it may be at its all time great for WK12. Both Naito/Okada is going to react accordingly to the crowd and this has the potential to be an all time great with those two in the ring and how they adapt the crowd. This is going to be a grind match that will have the crowd spent by the end.

Yeah, I get bothered occasionally by how big a babyface reaction Naito gets if just because I've loved his heel work so much and love when he gives a lot of crap to the audience, but the Japanese crowds adore the guy, so why fight it? Okada has the role down pat, and the way he, Tanahashi, and KUSHIDA have played the ace role in the past for their divisions hammers home another way that NJPW just "gets it" in a way that WWE seemingly can't: since they're the aces, they sometimes get crap from crowds that want to see a new face break through to the top, but rather than roll with it and do the whole "how controversial!" or "aw, these people bought a ticket so they can boo or cheer whoever they want!" routine, the aces aren't afraid to take the guy you're saying you're behind so much, hold him up, and elbow his freaking neck off before turning to the crowd to remind them "I'm top dog here, and don't you DARE forget it." It's the type of role Cena could've been playing effortlessly for years now: the babyface top guy who occasionally hits challengers that either shake him a bit or get the crowd against him, so he's not afraid to remind the crowd "there's a reason I'M the one on top." The NJPW aces have all played heel-ish at times according to crowd reactions, and it works, and feels more real and raw. If this is a competition, if this is a sport, then guys who make it to the top get pretty amped up about staying there.

If this was WWE this would be double turn territory just because of how much love Naito is getting and Okada can switch into the heel role no problem but I love the dynamic they have now and you are correct where the aces will absorb the punches and do what they have to do because it’s just natural. They are seemingly playing this up in the same way Tanahashi felt some type of way about the crowd loving Shibata despite what Tanahashi felt was a betrayal when Shibata left the company. I would expect Okada to pull some Naito tricks and “wrestle his style” tho that’s par the course for Okada in wrestling his opponents match. There’s going to be a lot more aggression from Okada but Naito won’t be the full on baby face as he will do his usual. The match itself is going to be scripted to perfection.

Showbuckle's Okada vs Tanahashi videos do a great job of showing how the mannerisms of the 2 helped build the feud and both wrestlers
