WOR: Lesnar vs. Balor at Rumble scrapped

WWE is already running out of part timers, so they took the obvious route of future proofing the company by ruining potential draws and focusing more on guys who haven't gotten the spotlight like Triple H, Kane, and Shane McMahon.

Vince is a bad human being who needs to be retired.

He is a detriment to the product and should be ashamed of himself.

I hope he never has a good TV rating again, I hope WWE is immediately seen favorably in the public eye the second he is gone. He doesn't deserve anything good in business ever again.

So here's what I don't get.

What everyone is saying is correct. They way they've booked Finn from the moment he was injured by Rollins until now has been mind boggling. The matches with Kane, the "feud" with Wyatt, eating pins in multi-man matches when there were clearly less meaningful options that could have done it. They have done everything in their power to turn Finn in to an afterthought. He should not be over enough for a feud with Lesnar.

But he is.

That's what kills me. He IS over enough. On two separate occasions fans have interrupted Heyman promos in the last year with "WE WANT BALOR" chants. Paul Heyman himself has gone to bat for Finn because he knows how good he is. Until Braun went nuts on Hunter what drew the loudest crowd reaction in the SS main event? Finn and Nakamura. What drew the biggest reaction by far at that slapdash TLC show? Finn Balor and AJ Styles. When you go to any live show at any arena who is guaranteed to have one of the top 3 shirts at the event? Finn Balor.

Despite everything they've done to relegate Finn in to a bit player on their shows he has maintained his level of popularity. This is literally Vince having this conversation with his audience:

"That Balor kid just doesn't have it. He's not over enough for this."

To which the fans reply, "Um ... yeah, he is though?"

To which Vince shakes his head and says, "No, you fans don't know who you like" and proceeds to probably feed Braun to Lesnar one more time at the Rumble.


This is life as a fan in 2017. Isn't it just great?

I mean, Seeing Balor go back to New Japan to fight Omega for control of the Bullet Club would be great....

But money talks. I'd job to Kane, Cena, Brock, Miz, Stephanie, Vince, Michael Cole, and Michael Hayes' liver if it meant less grueling matches for more pay.

You just wonder if they understand their own business over there. A car doesn’t have enough gas to drive if you don’t put gas in it. Strange how things work. Balor getting decimated by Lesnar isn’t any better for him than being another guy in the Rumble anyway.

I would really like to see a situation where all of Vince's usual title picture toys were taken away. Mainly Brock, Roman, and Cena for RAW. Also HHH, because you know that would be his next move.

I would like to think that Vince would take the opportunity to go to all in on guys like Braun, Finn, and Joe and build them. Do fresh match ups. Create new stars. However, when I really think about it, he most likely would just reach deep into the his past successes to save the day until he could have his toys back. A random Kane monster push, a mindless trade of Orton to RAW, the return of "the new and improved Big Show".

What a dim view for the Vince led future.

There's no doubt that Vince McMahon has forgotten more about wrestling than I'll ever know, but the problem is that he seems to have forgotten f***ing all of it.

We're seriously having a thread where Vince McMahon soured on Balor fighting Brock at the Rumble, because Balor got squashed by Kane, which is something Vince approved of doing, for two straight weeks, after beating AJ Styles clean, and then had him get absolutely asswhooped by Samoa Joe.

Is... is this year even real? Is this really happening?? Are we really at this point where WWE will ruin a star this much and then question what went wrong when the fires are all around them like the "This is Fine" Dog Meme??

...lol, but that ALREADY HAPPENED. Why did they do it the first time around when they had this fear the whole time? Surprisingly Braun still remained over because of how talented he is but they had to remake him as a monster all over again after looking like such a chump to Lesnar.
