According to Dave, Vince decided on Monday afternoon that Finn Balor isn’t over enough to face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble and the match has been scrapped.
As of right now, there is no RAW main event for the Royal Rumble.
The plan was to rehab Finn after the Kane squash in the following weeks, but Vince has soured on that, which is probably why he lost clean to Joe last night.
Meltzer says the idea is to protect the F5 until WrestleMania, so it’s very unlikely that it will be Brock vs. Braun Strowman because it’s too difficult to keep Braun strong and have him lose clean.

Don't have Brock show up until WrestleMania. It's just that simple.
We don't need him. We don't want him. And not that they wouldnt do it, but a Montreal Screwjob to get the belt off him and carry the heat onto Roman would be delightful.
That was Survivor Series 1997 is forgotten.

Now Vince is allegedly saying that Balor isn’t ready for a title match...because he was squashed by Kane. The thing he approved of.
As Alvarez said on the same show, “self fulfilling prophecy”. You make someone look like a geek, you can’t turn around and be shocked when they look like a geek. ESPECIALLY since...YOU WERE THE GUY THAT DECIDED TO DO IT!

After the AJ match, Balor was the hottest he'd been since debuting. Hell, it even rehabbed him from the awful Wyatt feud and spared him what had been a really toxic program that was doing him more harm than good. Then they killed it dead with the Kane squash, and what has Balor actually done of note since then? Like it's not just "he couldn't be rehabbed" what the blistering hell has he done since? He's fought Samoa Joe a few times to a 1-1-1 record and was in the Survivor Series match. It's been a month and they have given him goddamn nothing to actually recover off of, and now they're surprised that his brand's damage. This shit is why nobody's a big enough star. |

Screw the younger new talent, just feed brock big show at the rumble, kane at whatever the next waste of a ppv is and finally lose to roman at mania, lets face it, Vince simply doesnt want finn, joe etc anywhere near the main event, end of.

I feel like he needs to go heel at this point, because WWE isn't going to invest in a face Finn Balor.
