Just do an ultimate underdog style storyline.
Some over undercard guy wins a number 1 contenders Battle Royale. Has his one shot at the title and build the story around that. That it's probably going to be his only shot so he's going to give it his all. During the match have him score a near fall immediately with a roll up to bait the crowd.
Can use any undercard guy for it really. Titus would be my pick.

It's scary that were all fearing what seems like inevitable now with Roman Reigns beating Lesnar and being the champ nobody wants. The product shouldn't be this predictable so many months in advance.
And Balor is being booked as a random midcarder and almost an enhancement talent right now. Shocking considering how strongly he was booked prior to being injured.

Complete speculation on my part here, but the only thing I can think of that makes any sense to me is that maybe Finn's contract is up and they don't want to give him a big push if he's ultimately not going to re-sign. Hopefully, I'm wrong about that but I can't think of any other logical reason why you'd have him job to Kane the night after his MOTYC with AJ.
On the other hand, maybe they just realized that feeding the Demon to Brock wasn't the best booking decision in the world. Maybe they'll feed Kane to him at Rumble instead.

Hilarious considering the rocket they continually strap to Roman Reigns that never seems to work yet he's still 'the guy.'

Hilarious considering the rocket they continually strap to Roman Reigns that never seems to work yet he's still 'the guy.' I'm kind of baffled that either nobody sees the slow-motion trainwreck that's coming, or if they do, they're too afraid to tell Vince. They're obviously well aware of what happens when Brock doesn't give a shit. He wouldn't work with Jinder, and they even had Bryan call him out over being lazy and unmotivated in the build to the AJ match. Brock isn't going to give a shit about another match with Roman, so even the BEST CASE scenario is Beet-Red Brock blowing himself up in 5 minutes throwing Germans and then smirking to himself as he makes Roman futilely try to drag him around until the F5 kickout and the Superman Punch -> Spear. If it wasn't for the fact that he's not likely to give up a Mania Payday, I almost wouldn't be surprised if he and Heyman put their foot down and said "No Roman. It's not happening. We don't want him."

They had a ready made story with Finn Balor never losing the Universal Championship. As I said in another post, why do we put up with WWE's stale product? It's obvious they do not care about our obvious disapproval for the product they're presenting, majority of people on this forum still watch RAW and Smackdown, watch the pay-per-views, and still have their subscription. If it's so bad and frustrating why are you still watching?
Simply turn it off and find something else entertaining. Once I saw that talent that I actually enjoy in Ambrose, Rollins, Ziggler, Wyatt, Nakamura, Braun, and Balor continually having the rug pulled from under them I decided getting frustrated isn't worth it anymore. It's simply time to just move on from the product and I've been happier about it.

I like that he just posted that to prove his point. I feel so bad for the dude that this shit happened man, it's not his fault. It's a cycle that happens to all these new guys. This company and it's stupid "well if you can't get over with the shitty way we book you then you're not getting pushed" shit is ridiculous.

It's where I can see the similarities with Bryan in how people still care about him regardless even if the reaction isn't near as loud. It's just a bizarre situation overall, especially since Balor's character isn't exactly the most established thing in the world.

It's unfortunate. I like Finn. Granted, I don't know what sort of match we'd have got: Brock giving a shit, or not giving a shit. If it's the latter, I don't feel like I'm missing out, but it still is disappointing.

just from history though Finn pretty blatantly does read the dirtsheets and makes references to them on his Social Media Account a lot.
