It looks like a weird hybrid of CGI, real life and claymation. I kinda like it. Definitely more hyped for this than whatever Marvel's doing with old Pete.

It's got a weird stop motion animation effect... not sure I like it or not.
the backgrounds are really nice looking and I did like the quick comic book shots they showed (but they might get really annoying if they are a constant thing)
Also Spider-verse story told from someone else's perspective could be cool.
It at least has more legs than like any of Sony's other Spider-man minus Spider-man projects.

I liked the animation style until I saw Miles' face under the mask. It really clashes with the rest of the animation style.

I liked the animation style until I saw Miles' face under the mask. It really clashes with the rest of the animation style. I showed it to someone else and they basically said what I was more or less thinking... "It Feels like it keeps flipflopping between styles" and yeah... I have to agree with that. It's got parts where the motion seems real fluid... other times where it seems jerky like Rankin Bass stop motion specials... there are time where it seems 2d (not just the comic book splash sections when he's running over the taxis) Granted, none of it I would say is really BAD, and I will probably go and see this.

I agree. I really liked the whole "comic book but animated" style and then Miles unmasks to reveal a Pixar/Disney CGI face and I was like "wha?"

Spider-Verse, huh? This better mean I'm finally gonna get my resolution to Spider-Man Unlimited.
Actually I'm kinda iffy on them doing a multiverse story. I'd honestly just rather see a Miles Morales movie at this point.
But I really the animation. The problem I've had with a lot of CGI is that it lacks an energy to it (see Transformers Prime), it just feels static and bland. This has energy to it, and it looks good and different.

Honestly even before the unmasking I thought the animation looked terrible. Just looks really janky and the proportions are all over the place. Reminding me more than a little of Beware the Batman and that is not remotely a good thing.

The suited animation looks great, but why does Miles look like an extra out of Frozen?

Before the first X-Men came out I recall tons of people complaining about how Wolverine’s claws looked in the trailer. How’d that turn out?

I wasn't expecting such cartoony looking faces, but overall I think it looks pretty cool. At least it's not uncanny valley, Tintin-ish mocap animation.

So if this is the Spider-Verse, does that mean we'll have Japanese Spider-Man appear?

I'm down for it. I was actually thinking the other day how it's a little odd that we haven't really seen an animated superhero film in a while that wasn't one of DC's limited budget affairs.
