It's just so indicative of TNA throughout their tenure. The inability to allow things to happen organically. The desperate desire to be bigger even if the action to attain it actually damages the company.
Off the top of my head:
Going on the road. The idea pitched was they should do research, structure and plan with the goal of going on the road once things were in place.
The outcome "WE'RE GOING ON THE ROAD NEXT WEEK WITHOUT COSTING ANYTHING"
We do a Monday night show. Okay we lose out to WWE but it does good numbers for us and gets a bit of buzz despite the booking. Maybe we can do this as a quarterly special?
The outcome WE'RE GOING TO MONDAYS FULL TIME AND HOTSHOTTING STUFF TO TRY AND CLAW BACK THE DYING RATINGS WHEN OUR USUAL SHOWS DON'T TURN OUT TO HAVE TH4 SAME APPEAL
We've finally cleared some dead wood. We have a better contract structure in place. We've got two guys who have a track record (certaintly in D'amore's case, I remain sceptical on Cyrus) of doing things sensibly and logically. We're based in Canada now, closer to our offices. We're talking about correcting longstanding issues as the company is on its arse and needs to build back up slowly.
The outcome LET'S GO FOR A NEW JAPAN PARTNERSHIP EVEN THOUGH THEYRE TEAMED WITH THE COMPANY WE TRIED TO SCREW AND ARE OPPOSING COMPANIES WE WORK WITH.
Say in the new year they have a steady ratings increase. Guarantee within months they start talking as though they're a legit challenge to WWE and take shots at Vince.
If there's a bone headed move or I'll advised shortcut they'll take it.
IF you wrote out completely 100% accurately the history of this company as a screenplay and pitched it, you'd be turned away because the plot was too unrealistic

TNA wants a lot of things that aren't going to happen.
Edit: I realize I pretty much repeated what Push Val Venis said.

To be fair, and far be it from me to be fair to TNA but still, unlike the other times this has happened, nobody has come out in interviews and said “We want this to happen, we’re confident this can happen” like the other times where you had Dixie and everyone else cry about how they don’t have two hours/Kurt Angle/Hulk Hogan etc.
This seems like a paragraph and a bit that seems more like, with WWE creative stuff, where it was pitched in a meeting or talked about and someone ran with. Sure, there was that meeting with Nordholm in Japan with the roster bit that’s...kind of it.
