I think it has been way blown out of proportion that they had to wrestle on Christmas, add in a party after, hell that doesn’t sound that bad.

I’m sure everyone involved got a better pay-day than usual. Vince is well known for not wanting anyone to work Christmas Day and spending time with their families.

There were no house shows. I do hope they get this next week off house shows as well, though. Start the new year off with some rest.

They probably would have preferred to not have to work on Christmas

I think anyone who gets into entertainment knows stuff like working on Christmas will happen.
In fact i'd be willing to bet working on christmas is way better than some of the stuff they have to deal with

I’d have no problem with them working Christmas if they had a) an off season or b) more allowances for time off or a revolving roster instead of having to worry about your spot and the like.
Since neither of those would happen in 2017 WWE, screw them working Christmas.

I'm guessing the people saying it's no big deal/blown out of proportion aren't parents.

Or have your body thrown around and whacked for 200 odd days a year. Still don't see the connection between that and Christmas. It's pretty much the one time of year recognized by just about everyone (except retail) as a time for family and relaxation. Few places would even consider making people work Christmas Eve, let alone Christmas. Add in a job that has you on the road for the vast majority of the year while also experiencing all kinds of physical wear and tear and it makes working Christmas sting that much more. The fact that they got the week off before helps since you can do an early Christmas but it still sucks. And yes minimum wage service and retail workers get boned and it sucks, but that doesn't make it suck less for them. Still the week off is nice.

Honestly and I'm not trying to antagonize here, but literally every gas station attendant stuck at work on Xmas or overnight during New Years (aka the super drunk shift) deserves more pity and compassion than any WWE Superstar with the best job in the world in my opinion. Working a crappy dead end job on Xmas sucks worse than being cheered by thousands of live fans or being watched by millions of fans at home to me.

I'm guessing the people saying it's no big deal/blown out of proportion aren't parents. Servicemen and women, emergency call operators, doctors, nurses all have to work Christmas day and forego their families. Extremely well paid entertainers really don't get my sympathies in comparison.

Is WWE superstars having to work Christmas and New Years no different than NFL and NBA players that have to play on holidays?

I'm guessing the people saying it's no big deal/blown out of proportion aren't parents. Having family in law enforcement, it's not always possible to celebrate on Christmas day proper.
