First 205 Live House Show Cancelled

The Ryan Center in Kingston, RI has posted the following on their tickets page announcing that the 205 Live event they were set to host on January 19th has been cancelled:

WWE 205 Live Tour scheduled for Friday, January 19th at 7:30 PM at the Ryan Center on the campus of the University of Rhode Island has been cancelled. All tickets for the Friday, January 19th show at the Ryan Center show will be fully refunded.

The Ryan Center Box Office is open Monday-Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 10am – 2pm. Questions may be directed to 401-788-3021.

I haven't laughed this much since last night when I made a "Willie still loves ya, O great one!" comment while watching Dragon Ball GT.

3 matches (2 from an ice cold property) in a rinky dink bathtub at Moose Gallbladder was going to sell like hotcakes?

By the way... Newport does have a huge arena & the OP pointed out, but I'm thinking they'll cancel the following Poughkeepsie show, which is a literal bathtub.

Seriously, it's time. The Cruiserweight Classic was a great idea but it didn't need to be its own show AND be on RAW.

From the info for these:

1) People laugh about the size of the Ryan Center and thinking they could sell it out, but WWE DID sell out the Ryan Center for NXT in the past (the second show did worse, but it's absolutely possible for WWE to sell out that arena for the developmental shows.) Heck, it's one of the biggest arenas WWE can get on super-short notice and have some chance of success.

2) A lot of the problems happened due to injuries and Rich Swann flaming out- the whole thing changed up dramatically after that.

3) No, Newport doesn't have a huge arena- the only really big arenas in Rhode Island are the Dunkin' Donuts Center (which WWE has NEVER had a problem selling out, even with lesser shows) and the Ryan Center (which WWE started using with the NXT live tours.)

I'd be more apt to go if the shows were in Boston or Providence, but I'm not sitting in traffic trying to traverse to either Lowell or southern RI.

Yeah, I'd think that things like injuries and potentially Enzo's illness are especially why they decided to can this.

I went to a WWE ECW live event in Battle Creek, MI. Very small crowd. Certainly couldn't have been more than 1000, tops.

Did a quick google and it looks like it was at the Kellogg Arena, pictured here, so it wasn't too mismatched for crowd size vs. venue.
