Nothing can replace that feeling when you get to last Rumble entrant... and it's Jim Ross. He instantly punches you once and you backflip over the ropes for the loss

No Mercy. Great roster, amazing story mode, fun extras, great(Albeit limited) character creator.

No Mercy. Great roster, amazing story mode, fun extras, great(Albeit limited) character creator. As much as I liked No Mercy, the data-erasing glitch killed my motivation to play it most of the time, so I voted for Revenge.

I had and liked both, but I put more time into Wrestlemania 2000 overall.

Virtual Pro Wrestling 2
No Mercy was the game of my childhood though. Even went back to it and made my favorite indy guys a few years back.

He instantly punches you once and you backflip over the ropes for the loss Though it wasn't much better when you got eliminated on Revenge during the Rumble equivalent and waited for your replacement to enter. You got geared up to seek retribution on the person who eliminated you. Will it be Sting? Goldberg!? Then out runs Maya Inca Boy.

No Mercy had that tornado tag ladder match. I'm sorry but that got it if you ask me.

No Mercy wins because of it's CAW.

No Mercy had Entrance Themes and Titantrons for each wrestler. The WCW/NWO game had only 2 songs for each entrance

What I love about these two games is that they captured the roster depth of the Monday Night War at peak periods. Revenge was prime WCW right before things really started going south, featuring the '97-'98 roster with various lower-card wrestlers, cruisers, factions like nWo and Raven's Flock, and the big main event names. Some of these guys will never be in a game again. No Mercy expanded upon that and had a much greater of variety of gameplay options, actual entrances, and a pretty robust CAW for the era. These games both serve as time capsules for the general rosters and attires associated with the era. If you grew up during this time, you can travel back to one of the most robust rosters in WCW/WWF history in games that are actually still fun to play.
Of the two, I have always liked Revenge's gameplay more. It's not dramatically different, but something about the way it feels makes me give it the nod. I love just doing big Battle Royales and seeing all kinds of names come out with their various attires from all corners of the roster. Wrestlemania 2000 often gets kinda forgotten, but that game is awesome, too. It's closer to the '98 roster I liked a lot.

No Mercy, but I did love Revenge, Hanzomon was the shit. Nah, man, Ming Chee or Han Zo Man for 4 Life! I often played Revenge with 3 other friends. Alliances were broken when Ming Chee or Kim Chee came to the ring. Everybody pitched in to throw those bastards out.
