No Mercy gets the edge from me for the unlockables, actual themes, and CAW features, but I give Revenge the edge in terms of actual gameplay (loved playing as the cruiserweights).
No Mercy's data eraser glitch ultimately tips this one to Revenge for me. What good are unlockable characters and championships, created characters, and PPV card creators if I can't save my data, fam?

No Mercy, but I liked Revenge and was pretty excited to get it for Christmas. I can't remember having any problems with the glitch.

To slightly modify a point I made in a thread in the (w)rest section:
Could No Mercy allow me to finish a game as World Heavyweight Champion Scott Norton? I think not, good sir.
...and CAWs don't count!

I liked Revenge even before I really liked WCW. That's how good that game was.
But No Mercy was just f***ing incredible. It's a testament that No Mercy was so much better than a bunch of the Smackdown titles that followed it.

Anyone who says WCW Revenge is wrong. I agree

Caws could still be saved from the erasure glitch, as long as you remember to save to your memory card as well.

This thread reminds me most of the wrestling games on PlayStation were GARBAGE well I'd argue (I'm biased since I had a playstation) once the Smackdown series started, PS games were the best. The controls were a lot more simple. The Smackdown games weren't bad per se (considering that generation of gaming) I played and enjoyed them, but over the game just felt too fast/arcade-y) I actually bought the games that came out for Ps1. With the N64 Games and current wrestling games, the characters actually moved like they had some weight to them, and overall made the game feel like more or a realistic simulation.

No Mercy is the better game but I prefer Revenge for the memories of the time and place when I and my friends played.

Loved No Mercy but I feel like Revenge has a better overall move set. I liked to put guys in a sharpshooters, crossfaces, lion tamers, and Steiner recliners without having to build my special meter.
Plus No Mercy was incredibly slow with 4 characters on screen. Despite that though I love the fact that it had real themes and CAW so that gives it the edge.

Ah, the good ol' days when you could actually use the editor to change the existing wrestlers.
If only you could do that now, make a miniature Braun, for example.
I know another thread that could get some use out of that editor.

My fondest memory of Revenge was changing Konnan's name to "IHateKonnan".
Take that for what you will.

No Mercy, just for the storylines alone. I like the fact that the story can change if you lose or win.

I'd say No Mercy over Revenge, but I'd place WM 2000 over No Mercy. Can I ask why? Genuinely curious. It's the same game, but with a smaller roster, less match types, less moves, less CAW options, etc. I like the make your own PPV and no slow down during multiman matches, but still...

Always liked NWO/WCW Revenge over No Mercy. Probably because two of my favorite wrestlers (Raven, Hennig) are in Revenge.

Mainly because I think Road to Wrestlemania mode is a lot more fun than No Mercy’s story mode, but that’s just me. Plus less CAW options isn’t really a big deal to me.
