Nothing can replace that feeling when you get to last Rumble entrant... and it's Jim Ross. He instantly punches you once and you backflip over the ropes for the loss Though it wasn't much better when you got eliminated on Revenge during the Rumble equivalent and waited for your replacement to enter. You got geared up to seek retribution on the person who eliminated you. Will it be Sting? Goldberg!? Then out runs Maya Inca Boy. Even worse was when you did get lucky enough to get Goldberg or someone awesome and your buddy blindsides you as you get into the ring and eliminates you. I've seen fist fights break out between best friends because of Revenge.

No Mercy, but Revenge is pretty damn cool. WCW vs nWo: World Tour was Aki last WCW playstation game and it was good. Then they went with another developer and produced Nitro and Thunder. Both are best known now for the video promos each wrestler got as the gameplay was shit.
WWF really screwed the fans when they went with Yukes and then when Aki was developing Mayhem 2, they buy WCW and get it cancelled.

It was probably unfeasible with the huge rosters already there, but I'd have loved them to keep the fake versions of other wreslters in the WWF games.

The thinh that gives No Mercy the edge for me is that weapons stay in play after you drop them. Its the wrost feeling in the world whe. You knock your opponent down, get out of the ring, walk to the crowd, grab a weapon, go back in and immediately get punched, causing you to drop the thing and you have to watch it clip through the ring and presumably cease to exist.

WCW Mayhem was awful, but no kidding, if it had a Rumble mode, I'd have never stopped playing it. I used to videotape rumbles by stitching bits of the game together, and yes, I was a particularly sad kid...

Wasted many, many breaths playing Revenge. Never played the WWE game.

I liked WCW/nWo Revenge for the roster, and WWF No Mercy for the CAW. I never played a WWF character in that game. I have to go with No Mercy, because I could make wrestlers from my toy wrestling 'federation'. Those were awesome matches!

Both games are great, but the thing that drove me nuts about Revenge is the weak finishers on your first special. You'd be Goldberg you'd give Lodi three jackhammers and then he'd kickout at one.

No Mercy.
Due to the CAW mode.
Though the erasure glitch was annoying.

Those countless hours scouring the web for the perfect CAWS...only to lose all that data.

No Mercy. Due to the CAW mode. Though the erasure glitch was annoying. I know, hated when the music randomly changed to "A Little Respect"

WCW was great but while I was a kid in middle school watching the Monday Night Wars, my school always ass-u-me'd that WWF was the "A" product and WCW with Master P and No Limit Soldiers vs West Texas Rednecks was the "ghetto" product. So when WWE No Mercy was released, to quote the Rock, FINALLY--
I could pwn my white friends all over Chicago/Chicago Heights who thought I'm not the Black Fred Savage Wiz in videogames ala "Austin Creed". Since they refused to play Revenge they weren't ready for dat work I put into the Yukes engine
Editing this post to clarify Fred Savage was NOT the games savant in "The Wizard", I was more saying I bring odd couples together ala Austin's YT show as I'm a similar 'people person' when gaming-- not play to win but defintely play to shit talk, lol

I'd say No Mercy over Revenge, but I'd place WM 2000 over No Mercy.

World Tour was my intro, people using the boxer lol, and the additional "realistic" option which if you got in a few good moves, could end a match very quickly

Revenge for me. Nostalgia just wins out. If WCW were still alive today, maybe Revenge's roster doesnt seem so iconic, and maybe they would have had several awesome games since then. But as it is, Revenge is a perfect time capsule of when WCW was just the best thing going.
No Mercy is a great game but its A) not the unanimous best WWF/WWE game ever made and B) not even the pinnacle of the series, that goes to VPW 2.

This thread reminds me most of the wrestling games on PlayStation were GARBAGE well I'd argue (I'm biased since I had a playstation) once the Smackdown series started, PS games were the best. The controls were a lot more simple.
