So here’s the list of the 14 times Triple H won one of the world titles. Which ones are you fine with & which do you think shouldn’t have happened?
Reign No. 1: (WWE Title) Raw after SummerSlam - Triple H vs. Mankind, Aug. 23, 1999
Reign No. 2: (WWE Title) Unforgiven 1999 - Six Pack Challenge: Triple H vs. The Rock vs. the British Bulldog vs. Big Show vs. Mankind vs. Kane, Sept. 26, 1999
Reign No. 3: (WWE Title) Triple H vs. Big Show, Jan. 3, 2000
Reign No. 4: (WWE Title) Judgment Day 2000 - Triple H vs. The Rock Iron Man Match, May 21, 2000
Reign No. 5: (WWE Title) WrestleMania X8 - Triple H vs. Chris Jericho, March 17, 2002
Reign No. 6: (World Heavyweight Title) - Handed the title by Eric Bischoff, Sept. 2, 2002
Reign No. 7: (World Heavyweight Title) - Armageddon 2002 - Three Stages of Hell: Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels, Dec. 15, 2002
Reign No. 8: (World Heavyweight Title) - Armageddon 2003 - Triple H vs. Kane vs. Goldberg, Dec. 14, 2003
Reign No. 9: (World Heavyweight Title) - Unforgiven 2004 - Triple H vs. Randy Orton, Sept. 12, 2004

Reign No. 12 (WWE Title) - Backlash 2008 - Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match: Triple H vs. Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. JBL, Apr. 27, 2008
Reign No. 13 (WWE Title) - No Way Out 2009 - Elimination Chamber: Triple H vs. Vladimir Kozolv vs. Undertaker vs. Big Show vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Edge, Feb. 16, 2009
Reign No. 14 (WWE Title) - Royal Rumble 2016 - Royal Rumble Match Winner for WWE Title, Jan. 24, 2016

Anything after Batista got it is no let alone the shit show that No Mercy 2007 and Rumble 2016 was. Rumble 2016 killed my interest in even a PPV only model with the WWE network.
His first three could have just been condensed to 1... maybe 2 if you need a happy title change for the Austin SS injury. A few of his WHC reigns are stupid and boring especially when he lost it to vacant to win it back to vacant. At that point just let him keep it instead of padding his numbers.

A better question would be "which Triple H title reign do you agree with?" because there's an easier question. If you ask me, these are the ones I'm ok with.
I'm actually ok with him holding the title during the Reign of Terror. I just hated the fact it came with the long promos, not putting over more stars and he (with his goon squad) standing tall most of the time. I wish he would have lost it against more guys like Booker for example.

That stupid show where Orton was given the vacant title only to immediately lose it to HHH and then HHH defended it against (Umaga?) and then lost it back to Orton that same night.
A signal of WWE style title reigns for the next ten years.

He should've gone to ECW in 2008 and win the ECW then. Triple H vs. CM Punk, Tommy Dreamer, Mark Henry, Big Daddy V, Colin Delaney, Christian, Shelton Benjamin, Tommy Dreamer.
It would be a different group for him to work with in 2008-09 and it would be perfect for him to transition to the backstage role at that point.
So any title reign after 2008 just is meh....

A signal of WWE style title reigns for the next ten years. especially since this was right after Cena's almost year long one. It seemed like they decided to make up for the lack of title changes in one night. also disliked Reign 10... because it happened because HHH was double pinned... only he doesn't drop it to anyone and then wins it back immediately.

Reign 4 produced some good TV, and a mark out moment when it ended. I know because my Rock loving pal woke up my mum cheering when we watched it at 4am LIVE. Reign 5 was Pointless. Reign 6 was fine, but needed a win rather than being handed the title. Reign 7 should have been amalgamated into this (ie no HBK win) and it should have ended at Mania again. Reign 8 was fine because it had a set reason, top heel on RAW loses belt to the Daniel Bryan of 2004. Reign 9 and 10 should have been combined into one, but a general reign was needed here for the Batista moment. Reign 11 was a panic moment by Vince. Reign 12 could have been better if they'd put over Jeff Hardy at the finish as the booking suggested. Reign 13 works if he put over Orton at Mania. He didn't. Reign 14 wouldn't have been needed if they'd not screwed up Reigns so badly. So in short... I can justify 4 reigns as it stands and up to 7 if they'd been booked better at their climax.

Reign No. 9 and 10 are same damn thing. HHH was stripped of the title for a few weeks only to win it back anyways at NYR 2005.

the one that pissed me off was when he beat Orton in less than a month in 04. Took the wind out of his sails. Reign of terror was bad, for the length of it. Rumble 16 didn't really piss me off because injuries put them in a tough spot. He wasn't supposed to have it and he wouldn't have booked himself to win it if the roster was healthier.

Ambrose could have easily won the Rumble & the title. He was very over with the crowd. But since he had to be fed to Brock at Mania that wasn’t happening. So Ambrose pretty much lost his momentum after losing every important match he was in than of course they gave him the title seemingly out of nowhere later in the year.

He never should have dropped the title twice in 1999. He should have held the belt from the night after SummerSlam until WrestleMania/Backlash.
Reigns 2 and 3 should have been a long Reign 1.
Reign no. 6- the problem was Bischoff giving it to him. Why not just announce the World Heavyweight Title will be brought back at Unforgiven instead of literally GIVING him the belt?

I hated when Bischoff literally handed him the belt. At least put him in a match with someone to pretend he earned it.
Also, HHH had no f'ing business being near the title in 2016. They did not need it on him for the feud. All it did was make Ambrose look like a chump and pad Reigns numbers. I know there were a lot of injuries but there were still viable options.

I'd say he could have had a run in late 1999 until WM in 2000. That one and the one after he returned from injury in early 2002 for WM. Those are literally the only title runs he had that I can justify. Everything else was a situation where there were other options available that would have produced better results.

I would have had him keep the belt after beating Mankind all the way until Survivor Series 99.
I didn't mind him getting the belt handed to him, I just hated how he didn't get his comeuppance from RVD, who he cost the IC belt on the go-home show before their Unforgiven 02 match.
I hated that double-pin/submission on the 11/29/04 Raw with Edge/Benoit, I would have had Edge hold the belt until NYR 05 where special guest ref HBK still costs Edge the match and they continue their feud until the Rumble 05 like they did.

His epitome was the 2000 reign.
However I am fond of "the reign of terror". That was to establish a brand new championship and the WHC became the most important title in the company at one point.
Contrast this to the joke that is the Universal title.
He didn't need to headline Wrestlemania against Reigns.

He did... he won the Number One Contendership like the week before, then Brock signed exclusivity on Smackdown. So the contendership match from the week before kinda became a title match retroactively, since HHH couldn't get his title match.

If the title is on the shelf you should have some man, you may not deserve two or three but you get one man.

I'm fine with all of them except for the last four.
Once he "passed the torch" to Batista, he never needed to win the title again.
