Al Snow's RAW debut as the Avatar character. You can actually track the disappointment in Vince's voice during commentary as his high hopes become further extinguished one right after another.
While we're on the subject, Al Snow stealing jokes without crediting people on Twitter is something I wish he caught more flack for.

Steiner against Triple H royal rumble 03. Booker T was plan b lol Scott was planned in that main event and to win the belt. That match cost him millions of dollars and being on the main event scene. Steiner didn't even last a year in the company, and he pretty much became a lower card guy, couldn't happen to a nicer guy. The fact that he wasn’t booked for Wrestlemania two months later that year is a testament to how bad that match was. Didn’t they have an even worse match the following month at No Way Out? No Way Out was actually better but the damage was already done. Apparently everyone looked at Vince in gorilla right after the royal rumble match and he looked both perplexed and disgusted. Steiner lied to him regarding his drop foot injury and how bad it was.

With the exception of the Richter match I don't see how anyones career was ruined. Not making it as a top draw? Maybe. Having to another promotion because bridges were burned? Yes. But not totally "ruined." I think that's a rarity in wrestling.

Yeah wrestling's probably the only form of media where the performers will always have a job unless they burn bridges entirely with every promoter or do something similar to Benoit.

Richter in the "original screwjob" with Moolah. Went from being one of the five top names in the WWF to...well, nothing. Some Japan dates, a run in Puerto Rico and a brief stay in the twilight years of the AWA was it for her. In one match she went from being the #1 (by a large margin) female wrestler in the U.S. to somebody even Crockett wouldn't hire. I'm hard-pressed to think of anybody who's star plummeted as suddenly as Wendi Richter's did. I just don't understand why? Seriously, she was a big star and a draw, why the hell did Vince let this crap happen? Seriously for an ancient washed up Moolah.

Knowing how shady that Moolah was and how petty that Vince is and it was the 80s when he could get away with things with no consequence, I’d guess that it was something quite suspect that led to that screw job.

Here's a great one. AW (remember him?) in 2012 during a Titus O' Neil match yelled via his throat mic a reference to Kobe Byrant. He was fired and I don't think he has resurfaced in wrestling since. (I think he claimed that he was set for life. What a joke.)

Jeff Jarrett in that "Good Housekeeping" match. Not quite. He was a main eventer in WCW not long after that.

It wasn't even his match, but how about Sim Snuka being out of position for the Undertaker at Wrestlemania?

And by all accounts, Manu is/was the least talented member of that family by about several country miles. Sim "Deuce" Snuka had some real talent and just never got used much at all.

Would Tom Magee's match against Bret Hart be considered a career destroyer?

I'm sure it was, especially with Moolah involved. But I find it odd that Vince would be alright with burying his top female wrestler for no good reason, unlike Bret who was leaving the company. I have heard Wendi talk about the situation saying she did feel she deserved more money, so maybe it was something to do with that. Either way, I have no real idea.

(I think he claimed that he was set for life. What a joke.) He was still around a week later... also he showed up in another promotion as the G.O.A.T. ... after taking his vitamins. Its funny how Legacy let MANU in their group while a former tag team champion was "too pathetic" for membership. And by all accounts, Manu is/was the least talented member of that family by about several country miles. Sim "Deuce" Snuka had some real talent and just never got used much at all. I didn't see any talent come from Sim. all I've ever seen from him was a guy that refused to take any kinda bump.

Would Tom Magee's match against Bret Hart be considered a career destroyer? Acording to Hart, that match actually got Magee hired, because Hart made him look good. It's the later matches against guys who couldn't carry Mageee got him fired.

It's the later matches against guys who couldn't carry Mageee got him fired. He was there for FOUR YEARS after the Hart match. That match gave him a four year career because they were desperately hoping to pull that out of him again.

There's a Tom Magee match with Arn Anderson on youtube, I guess it was a dark match that was filmed and only broadcast in Europe or something. Anyway, Arn carries him to a short, adequate match. I'd be interested to see the Hart match just to see if it really was like an incredible Savage-Warrior type carry job or just an incompetent guy being carried to an okay match.
I also saw a video of a 3 minute Tom Magee match from Japan that quickly made it clear he could do three things - a cartwheel, a backflip, and a bodybuilder pose. Dude's offence in that match was worse than Shane McMahon's. He was never, ever gonna make it.
