Yes, Bret had the match and said he made Magee look so good, Vince was declaring backstage Magee was going to be his next champ.

Wouldn't say I take it as gospel, but there has to be some reason Vince kept the guy on the payroll for almost half a decade without ever giving him anything to do and barely putting him on TV; and this was during a period Vince didn't have a developmental/farm system.

Colt Cabana’s match with Umaga where they had to re-tape the finish because he didn’t sell the Samoan Spike well enough pretty much ended his WWE career because I think he was fired right after that.

But yeah, that was pretty much it for Kozlov, although I think the final nail was when not even Shawn could get a decent match out of him on a RAW prior to Mania. If my memory is right it was ‘winner faces Taker at WM25’ match.
