I'm terrified of flying, always have been. I force myself to do it & average two flights per month, but the fear has never lessened.
I know the statistics, I know you're safer on a plane than in a car, and I've never been involved in anything worse than pretty rough turbulence. Logically, I know my fear is disproportionate to the risk, but I'm still just as afraid every time I fly. I'm trying to make sense of it after all these years.
Are you afraid of flying? If you are, what are your fears, and do you think they're reasonable? And if you aren't, why aren't you?

I cant stand to fly. I'm not that naive. I'm just out to find the better part of me.

I learned how to deal with airplanes when I was relatively young, so it doesn't really scare me now. Though I can't help get some butterflies during takeoff and landing. It's only natural.

I'm perfectly fine on them.
Wouldn't say I was ever scared but I did use to feel a little uneasy on them and there was always that part of me that was glad when the plane was back on the ground again.
I use to fly from the UK to Ireland every week in my old job so that did help.
Never was a fan of turbulence but after awhile I kind of learnt it's nothing to be scared of.
Way I see it if the cabin crew is carrying acting like nothing is happening then you are pretty much fine.

I love flying, always look forward vto it. Only bit I don't like is my ears always pop pretty bad when landing. For like an hour afterwards I'm half death.
Never felt afraid flying, even in turbulence.

I'm afraid of heights. So you can conclude that pretty easily.

Nope. However, the idea of flying overseas does make me a tiny bit anxious. I've never had an overseas flight and the longest I've been on was 3 hours from Melbourne to Brisbane. Flying to other countries over a giant land of ocean combined with being stuck on the plane for 24+ hours, doesn't sound pleasant.

I love flying-I've never been bothered by the idea. As far as statistics, well, they're statistics for everything really. Flying just seems fun to me, it's like I'm doing something important in a way-I realize I have the mindset of Beaver Cleaver, but it works for me

I'm afraid of heights. So you can conclude that pretty easily. This is where things are strange with me.. I'm scared of heights, I can't go to the 3rd floor of a shopping centre or the Balcony of a theatre.. I'm a complete nervous wreck if I do. Yet I can look out a plane window no problem.. How that works I have no idea.

I'm not afraid of flying but I do hate it. No leg room, small bathroom, overpriced/overbooked, $4 can of pop, I can't stand any of these. But the big thing for me is security, get to the airport 2 hours early to put up with those goons. Ever see that 1st episode of Rick and Morty, when Rick is going through security? That's me exactly. by the end I'm way to pissed off to be afraid. hey Kyn, if I may ask (and please don't feel pressured to answer, if you don't, it's cool ) why do you need to fly so much? Twice a month seems like a lot.

Never been on an airplane. Not sure. Don't think I'd be afraid, however I don't like heights.
Have flown on a Helicopter once, but that was a life flight at night, so I wasn't really in shape to enjoy the flight.

Occasional bouts of turbulence aside, I love flying. I wouldn't want to fly on a monthly basis, but I make sure to travel at least twice a year. My gripes mostly depend on the specific airlines and airports rather than flying in general. I'm not afraid of flying but I do hate it. No leg room, small bathroom, overpriced/overbooked, $4 can of pop Why are you being charged $4 for soda? It's supposed to be free.

Haven't flown much but haven't had a problem with it.
Did a study abroad in London and we had to fly back to the US about halfway across the Atlantic due to a cracked window on the plane's interior. Left again at like 3 in the morning.

Sounds like a Low Cost Airliner. Dunno what it's like State Side but here in Europe we have companies like Ryanair and EasyJet that give you cheap flights but charge you an arm and a leg for everything else.. Including snacks onboard.

I get a little claustrophobic being a man who is both big and tall but nothing with the flight itself.

I hate flying. I think largely it’s the lack of control. If the plane has issues you’re trusting that a stranger knows how to work around it. Stories like the pilot from GermanWings who decided it was time for him to go and all the passengers were coming with him don’t help. I know that statistically the odds of dying are incredibly low, but if you do it’s going to be horrible.

I used to hate it but when I started flying more regularly I got used to it, now I even enjoy it. The feeling at take-off is still a little uncomfortable for me but once the seatbelt sign is turned off I feel relaxed all the way, especially if I have a window seat. I just put some tunes on and look out the window and the view always blows my mind.
