Yup, looks like it. Saban & Fox sold it (and all of Fox Family, which became ABC Family) to Disney in 2001, Saban then bought Power Rangers itself it back in 2010, and now Saban's selling them (and a ton of other Saban properties) to Hasbro. Hmm well hopefully this means something for the franchise The movie wasn't bad imo and the cast bonded well but it was a superhero paint by the numbers film that had Power Rangers as the name Hopefully, Hasbro keeps going with the comic and starts using that as source material. It's going to be interesting to see what they do with Power Rangers moving forward

Bandai America gets dropped and Saban & Hasbro announce that the next series is GoBusters aka the series that Bandai didn't want adapted because the toyline failed in Japan. Of course Bandai also demanded that Goseiger get adapted instead of just skipping to Gokaiger like literally everyone thought they should have done Now if only Hasbro could just do the oh so little favor to everyone and completely ignore super megaflop and give us a proper Gokaiger adaption. It wont ever happen of course but it would be a helluva swerve. Only if we get cast members in the same character style as Gokaiger. I prefer my pirate princess.

I will not mourn Saban leaving Power Rangers, that's for sure. They kinda came across as litigious f***s.
(Of course, Hasbro's not blameless there, either, given that time they went after Fensler Films)

I think it is just because she is extremely shy but she is extremely beloved like the others so hopefully even if it is just the only acting she does she comes back for the 10yrs after movie because hell or high water we are getting that gawd damn movie.

Hmm that's interesting I didn't even know that. Wasn't she a model as well? And there's no way she doesn't come back for the 10 years movie. Gokaiger if you can believe it is already 7 years old despite the fact it felt like it came out not that long ago. Shikenger will be 10 next year so there should be no doubt it's getting its own movie as well. After Shikenger and Gokaiger than the next logical one should be Kyoryuger

Others included in the purchase included My Pet Monster, Popples, Treehouse Detectives, Julius Jr, and Luna Petunia. I'm not familiar with the latter three, but MPM and Popples were originally American Greeting brands before Saban somehow ended up with them. Obviously, they didn't end up with AG properties like Care Bears or Strawberry Shortcake, because those would be been bigger news than Popples, but I wonder if Saban had any other lesser AG properties that Hasbro just snagged.
It's going to be interesting when the eventual Disney/Hasbro merger happens and Power Rangers end up right back with the Mouse again.

Wasn't Hasbro having a really down year this year because of the Toys R Us fiasco and people not buying their toys?
Throwing that kind of money at Bandai in the hopes that they'll make even more of a windfall off of it feels like the first steps of a company about to sign it's own Not-Alive-Anymore certificate.

Hasbro has so much brand penetration elsewhere that the Toys R Us situation hurt them, but nowhere near as bad as it did others that still strongly relied on TRU. They're a megalith far beyond needing TRU in any real way.

Disney has the franchise for 7 years, but never really knew what to do with it. And I’d argue Saban Brands didn’t keep the same status quo with the show. Not at first, anyway. Like how Samurai had Deker, the obligatory human villain getting killed in a fairly violent way, and not getting redeemed which is the norm for so many human looking villains in the whole of the franchise. This leaving his wife Dayu, who was easily the most layered and sympathetic of the Nighlok crew just broken and just let Xandred absorb her in a manner that was uncomfortably reminiscent of a rape scene. Dayu literally sold her soul to save Deker’s life, and it ended with both of them being turned into monsters and never being allowed to be happy or together ever again. Far from the usual Power Rangers status quo. Hell, Super Megaforce even had explicitly stated genocide.

What's this the 2nd time Saban has sold Power Rangers? I can see them on Nick for one more season or however long Beast Morphers last for. Could be a reunion with Disney soon Also can we get the old episodes shown on TV. They used to do that on Disney when it was on there You know the entire series is on Netflix (well barring Super Ninja Steel but still) right?

He had the season and then the "super mega season" or whatever they want to call it. Saban got them a movie off the ground so there's something to that Yes, Disney didn't do shit with them when they had them and it almost died towards the end. I think now that there's a little more life it esepcially from the comic book and a potential movie franchise they can now at least try to push it further. That's not saying they will but they have the resources to push it further
