.......Why? I haven't watched 4 or 5 yet, but weren't they essentially a soft reboot? Or did they just replace all the lead actors and carry on the same storyline?

Good.
Now bring back designs that look more like the cartoons and comics. And the colors......good grief, make these robot bastards colorful again.

So, I still think the first Transformers movie is actually really good. Has a decent amount of Transformers on both sides without overloading characters for the sake of having more stuff on-screen, has a plot which makes sense, has plenty of funny moments that are actually funny, and doesn't have a joke about Devastator's testicles because "ha ha funny!" (seriously, f*** off, Revenge of the Fallen).
Why is it so difficult to just keep making decent Transformers movies?

I haven't seen Last Knight, but continuity in the series from what I understand was god awful.
Apparently lot's of things in Last Knight completely disregarded things from previous movies.
As a (mostly G1) Transformers fan, I hope if they reboot it, it's better than what Bay did to them.

"Also, f*** maintaining a consistent look. We'll shoot on 27 different cameras so the aspect ratio changes with every shot!"

A while back Bay and other excecutives hashed out like 12/13 future spin-off Transformers films. If I were to guess this reboot won't change those. If anything this reboot will probably enable more of those off-shoots as they go HAM on their Trasnformers Cinematic Universe.
I'm glad though. Bays run was maligned and out of control. Should be interesting to see what a new transformers with restraint could look like.

YES! YES! YES! YES!
Finally, someone found that there's franchises that NEED to be rebooted.
Get people on board from the comics or TV show(s) and we're set.

Didn't the original have Bubmlebee pissing on someone, and that horrible masturbation gag? I feel like if you go back to watch the original after Revenge of the Fallen, all of the horrible stuff sticks out that much more.

there's only ONE thing that needs to be added to the franchise the letter U!
i liked the first two and the third should have been LONGER!
then you separate them and throw them off in time, focus on them for one shot movies, starting with optimus. then the eighties bumblebee movie and finally a curveball ..... MEGATRON, and finally you bring in THE BAD GUY to finish off the trilogy trilogy!

Yes, it had sophomoric humor but the franchise was always going to be aimed at kids. The first Transformers had restraint and is a pretty enjoyable flick.

I still enjoy the first one, it's flawed but enjoyable. 2 is one of the worst f***ing movies I've ever seen. And 3 would be a watchable, but horribly flawed, movie if they had trimmed it down about 30 minutes. But seriously, 2 is so f***ing bad

It's time you can tell that Bay didn't want to do TLK

Said this before but I think they should do what WB/DC do and release direct to home release animated movies based on G1 comics .. IDW mostly , guessing it would be a bit tricky to do the Marvel ones.

It's time you can tell that Bay didn't want to do TLK He didn't even want to do Extinction. Before the third movie he was all "One more and I'm done." After the third he was "Yup, that's it, I'm done. Oh, what's that? You've dropped how much money on my doorstep? Well, it would be rude not to..."
