I mean, this thing has a 67% critical score and 74% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. That's about level with Aquaman and substantially better than the Snyder movies and Suicide Squad. It's not wowing people the way the first one did but let's not pretend this movie is some kind of unmitigated disaster or that its problems would've been fixed if only Diana had ripped Maxwell in half at the waist. It would’ve gone against everything in the movie up until that point, but there was a small part of me hoping for a Wonder Woman snapping Max Lord’s neck scene. But it wouldn’t work the same in DCEU, can’t really have Superman absolutely shocked at WW breaking a dudes neck when that’s the climax to the first appearance of Superman

The only thing Rotten Tomatoes is good for is confirmation bias one way or another. Stop using it to gauge 'success' These people don't want Diana snapping Maxwell's neck, yet are perfectly happy seeing... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Diana sleep with another guy who's been possessed by her dead boyfriend

I am a bit surprised to see a big movie like this quite so front-loaded on the review side, to the point where it's slid from a (premature) 90 to under 70 and even losing its Certified Fresh icon.
It's no disaster, but given I felt the first WW was 80% of a very good film, it's a shame this one doesn't seem to have improved on that.

It’s getting blasted by some people for it’s portrayal of Arabs. Rightfully so IMO.

The final resolution, the very last scene is as pure a display of heroism as I've seen in the comic book movie. It's perfect. It's beautiful.
But the way they handle her romantic relationship in this movie and the unfortunate questions it brings up just totally took me out of the film.

Haven't read any spoilers or anything but half way through so far. Really enjoying it. Nothing has wowed me like the trench scene from the first but I like the villain's a lot more already. Wiig evolves into a pretty menacing figure as the film progresses.

I don't want to bag on the movie too much. It was fine, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught the creepiness of a Chris Pine in another person's body stuff. Gal continues to shine in her role. Kristen Wiig got to expand her range a bit playing a villain, and Maxwell Lord, at least to me, had allusions to a certain businessman and politician. I heard the third act was different, but I disagree. There was a lot of action with the final fight with Cheetah, but the stuff with Maxwell Lord felt more like Dormammu/Dr. Strange i.e. not a grand final battle. The wish/monkey paw's threadline felt played out to me, but not where it was totally cliche.

I really don't get that decision with Steve possessing another living person's body. They could've just brought him back from the dead by saying "Next thing I know, I was here" or something. Closest reason I can think of is as an allusion to when the god Eros took control of Steve Trevor's dead body and became Steve Howard. And out of all the things to take from the Silver Age, that ain't it.

I watched it this afternoon and it just felt like it was about 30 minutes to long. The opening could of been cut out and just jump to 84. Also why does Diana not age but the other Amazonian in the movie does?

Also why does Diana not age but the other Amazonian in the movie does? Diana's a demigod as she is the daughter of Hippolyta and Zeus. Granted, Amazons seem to age very slowly even without being the offspring of a god.

I'm really kind of wondering what even the point was of the opening scene of the movie. I guess it does lay the groundwork for a bit of what's to come in terms of the movie's overall theme, but that's really just at the end of a fairly lengthy sequence that only seems to be there because the first movie had Themyscira stuff so the sequel has to have it.

Fan service, like for the same idiots that prefers kid Goku or pre Shippuden era Naruto.

Really enjoyed the film as a whole. Really warm and hopeful tone, wonderful soundtrack, and the filmography was perfect. Story was a tad bit cliché but I've seen worse in a super hero flick. It's obvious Patty pretty much ignored all of Synder's stupid "she abandoned the world after WW1". Just because she wasn't widely known doesn't mean she had given up. I love that. The cameo at the end made me smile from ear to ear though.

I don't want more silly and disposable DC movies, which is why I'm skipping the Snyder Cut of Justice League. People still talk about the Snyder movies, they won't be talking about this in a couple of months. Friendly reminder Snyder contributed a great deal to the story of the first WW movie y'all remember so fondly. And y'all wonder why I compare him to Vince Russo.

I know their doing stand alone stories, and not really a shared universe anymore but seriously to most people this movie kinda was wished out of existence.

I like it, but wasn’t wowed like the original. I am a HUGE fan of Kristin Wiig’s performance. I remember wondering if she could pull it off when she was cast. I think she knocked it out of the park. Pascal was great as well. My biggest complaint is, like others have said, it was just way too long.
