I honestly think this match will be just as if not even more embarrassing than last year. I have no hope for this match. Cena is good, but he’s not a miracle worker. Counterpoint John Cena drug The Great Khali to a decent match. and he's 100 times less mobile than Taker. You’re absolutely right. On the other hand, Khali has never been expected to do that much because of his size and mobility so in theory, you just have to sell and make him look good and hope he can survive the one bump he takes without his legs exploding. Taker, on the other hand, is expected to do A LOT more so Cena doing most of the offence’ll just feel silly. Especially if Taker can’t do the stuff people expect him to.

Takers had surgery and years off between matches. Last years wasn't good because Roman isn't good. Cena and Taker will probably be closer to HBK Taker than Roman.

Did y'all saw him last year? He looked like literal shit it was embarrassing. He was part of my childhood and I'm thankful for that but current Undertaker is a fat, grey, senior citizen with artificial hips stick together by spit and bubblegum. Last year was pre-hip surgery. He'll be more mobile this year. Also I certainly wouldn't call him fat at all.

The undertaker character allows for age and deterioration. Id like if he had gray hair and beard as well.

It tickles me that Cena and Undertaker haven't gone one-on-one properly since Undertaker's American Badass days. Since 'Taker's return as Deadman, we'll all been kinda giddy as to seeing Super Cena versus Undead Demon. So, of course, when they finally get back around to the match, Cena is no longer Super and there's rumours that Undertaker's coming back as ABA.

I may be wrong but I don't think there's a guy post hip surgery that could do a good match again, Piper was never the same. I believe that limits your ability to bump a lot.

But for real he's retiring in 2020 in a double retirement match with Terry Funk. No joke I had a TEW game once where in 2001 I had 55 year old Terry Funk lose to Taker at Mania in his final match. Pretty sad for Terry at least that there's a still a legitimate chance of this happening, with both of them still being active.

He's just stuck with terrible booking. If they had turned him heel a year ago after the Taker match then spent a year building to a face turn aganist Lesnar a lot more people would appreciate him in ring. He'a also on a roster loaded with amazing wrestlers. Put him in a time machine to 2006 and he'll be in the top 3 as far as workrate goes.

Thing is... Cena and Taker could go out there and just trade punches and a couple super basic moves for 10 minutes and it will still be great. I'm not tuning in to see a 5 Star Match in the Tokyo Dome, I'm tuning in to see two guys with a lot of character and nostalgia work their magic.

Yea but strictly kicking and punching isn’t Cena’s game. He liked his “Indy style” so there’s no telling what shit he will try to pullout against Taker. This will obviously be one of the rare times Cena is matched with someone with more experience than him as far as the WWE is concerned so maybe he will listen to Taker a bit more in regards to match planning Either way it goes I expect both to do their greatest hits but hopefully it doesn’t turn into a spam contest

He's never been able to carry lesser talent and doesn't compare or step up to superior.
