Channel Awesome Civil War, who side is Brad on? Lol I figured as much on that end. And yeah I saw Marzgrl's messages to Lewis and the fact his numbers have actual been on the rise of late. I can see him doing either though I doubt it'd effect him enough if he left tbh. Is Joe still with Channel Awesome? If so why? Dude gets millions of views on his stuff and is a game designer himself now. I think Joe left, but I am not sure. And maybe so. I know Lewis has been supportive of the people who have left, and pretty open about the fact that he has major issues with the Walkers, and no respect for Michaud, on a personal or business level, like how he tried to tell them for years to look at conventions seriously, and would get blown off, while Michaud would want to do local advertisement in Chicago. You know, for his website with an international audience. Going by the website Joe is still listed which blows my mind. Talk about a dude way too good for that site. While I might not agree with every review of his I respect the hell out of his honesty.

Holy shit...yeah, this just got exponentially worse: Yeah, saw that. Ellis apparently had a reputation for being a creep. They actually had to put Holly in a safe house because of his firing and whatnot.

Seems like the Youtube content creator scene is as sleazy as wrestling.

Seems like the Youtube content creator scene is as sleazy as wrestling. Depends, I guess. Some people have been luckier than others, like the Super Best Friends escaped most of the Machinima sleaze, and the worst they've had is a member leaving due to anxiety and wanting to do their own thing, and the sorta-leader needing a sabbatical. Nothing too salacious. Then again, you have shit like the still kinda mysterious Jontron and Arin Hanson breakup with Game Grumps. Guessing Arin was vindicated by history on that one.

I only occasionally watch Snob, Joe and Todd these days (AVGN too but I don't include him in the Channel Awesome group). The rest just hold no interest and I think the particular style of review has died.

The rest just hold no interest and I think the particular style of review has died. That's cause he isn't part of it. He's Cinemassacre. He only does the very occasional cameo/crossover with the Critic, nothing else.

I thought Todd left a long time ago.
I also dunno why Guru Larry is still there since he can match his views on there in about 30 minutes on youtube.

This is why I just watch the videos. The less I know about the content creators' personal lives the better.

It's a bunch of amateurs "lead" (and I use that term loosely) by other amateurs, very few of who have very much actual business or life experience. It's very much the blind leading the blind. None of them are acting like professionals because none of them are professionals. Many of them seem to have terrible People Skills. Is it any wonder that many of them are acting like petty teenagers?
When the people at the top have no idea what they are doing (and it became obvious fairly quickly that they did not), it should be no surprise that they hire people who also have no idea what they're doing. For all the blame you can put on the Walkers I would put as much blame on the people making videos who got into bed with these people without doing their homework and making sure that everything they signed was legal and above-board. I think a lot of these kids got stars in their eyes and thought that Doug Walker/Channel Awesome was going to be their ticket to internet fame and big money.
James Rolfe and Brad Jones have at least been smart enough not to hitch their wagons to Channel Awesome and manage their own content and business ventures and they both seem to be doing just fine for themselves.

Holy shit...yeah, this just got exponentially worse: I used to watch alot of TGWTG.com, but I have absolutely no recollection of who Ellis is The COO for the first 2 years. His only on camera appearance was in one of the f***-ups videos where Critic blamed him for uploading the wrong version of a video and then beat the crap out of him. As usual with that website's incompetent running, he was never replaced.

Apparently, the various creators are working on a shared Google document to get all of the stories in a handy place. Asked what goal if any they had, Marzgurl seems to just want acknowledgment and an apology from Doug, but barring that, to call attention to how content creators can get taken advantage of, particularly new and/or naive ones.
Makes sense. CA is the issue at hand now, but this kind of stuff has happened with Machinima, or if you want to go much further back, there was when Penny Arcade got a wildly predatory contract, only getting out of it when they got their business manager who had much more savvy than they did.
It doesn't always take malice. If someone is riding your coattails, or doing you a "favor" in order for you to do the work for them, they can also just be incompetent in the process to drag you down with them.

Someone will either apologize because they sincerely mean it, or they won't. If Doug hasn't apologized by now, he never will (and even if he did, it would only be to save face and probably not sincere). These people need to move on. I think they're just looking for an excuse to re-air their stale dirty laundry and get sympathy from their fanbases.

I was kind of hesitant to put my two cents in since on behalf of FAN I interviewed Doug. And I like to remain professional. But what the hell. From my own experience and the experiences of others, Doug is a really nice guy and goes out of his way for people. Unfortunately that generosity sometimes hits the brickwall of Mike and Rob. And what I suspect is that Doug doesnt have the guts to stand up to his brother or his upper management. I think part of that is that he doesnt want to go against family, and since he isnt a really businessman, he isnt going against the guys who do the paper work. Thats what I percieve to be the case based on how everything falls into place. Yeah from a lot of stuff I've heard a lot of the shadier stuff come from Mike and Rob. The biggest criticism for Doug seems to be that he won't stand up to them and he will craw defer to them. I remember when JO left he said that Doug was a nice guy but if people had issues with something he didn't want to deal with it or would tell them to deal with Rob or Mike. I've also heard that Doug has changed a lot since Demo Reel failed so badly and that he can't get any of his other projects off the ground so who knows

That's a shame Alison had to go through that. I like Movie Nights. I tried to watch Phelous and while I respect his Ghostbusters love ehhhhhhh.... his voice just annoys me.
Rob, to me, does give off kind of a douche vibes.

I figured this was coming sooner than later. Hopefully one of their biggest contributors to the site leaving will be a wake up call to Doug but going by the events lately I doubt it. Good luck to Linkara, dude puts out solid work and I'm proud to be a patreon supporter.
