Like, I get where they are coming from, but people have been harassing JewWario's widow, at least one of the Jane Does, and former friends. It isn't ideal, but I do at least get why CA didn't say why he was fired. Waiting to fire him is indefensible, but they couldn't go to authorities without victims corroborating, and had this stuff come out while he was alive, the harassment would have actually likely been much worse. Gamergaters would have eaten this shit up with a knife and fork. It would have been their dream scenario to wreak havoc with. Gamergate wasn't even a thing when Jewwario was alive so that not even a excuse. I'm watching the Pat/Ian Video atm and they could still had warn people to prevent this from happening even more. |

Just because GG wasn't a thing doesn't mean the type of people that flocked to it wouldn't be using it to harrass the victims and his widow. As they are doing now, if it came out when he was let go or when he killed himself as being true there is no doubt tehy would have done the same damned thing. If you don't think they would... people figured out who the woman was with just the date of the chat transcripts 5 years later... they would have had no problem figuring out who the victim is to harass at the time when more people remember exactly what happened at the con. |

Yeah, I guess I should have been clearer, I wasn't entirely sure when GG started up, but they went after Todd in the Shadows for saying Justin wouldn't have been down with them. Though I guess now, who the f*** knows what he'd have been behind? He led two disparate lives.
On the topic of Doug and CA, it's mind boggling to think that there is genuine doubt as to if he's even with the company. Like, there are decent arguments on both sides, but it just drives home how little transparency the company operates with that we can't figure it out for sure.

I think this is they thing for all this for me. We can say there’s something to it or there’s nothing all day long but it’s absolutely up to the company in question to get out there and set the record straight before it steamrolls and affects business. But, like you said, this is CA, who wouldn’t know how to calm a firestorm if they had a hose connected to a lake right next to them. |

Honestly I'm inclined to think there's at least some level of people being disingenuous with this JewWario thing. Probably not everyone and probably not the extent of it, but even at the time he was cut there were rumors going around about him being a predator, this didn't come out of nowhere.
Also f*** those people harassing anyone over this. There's absolutely nothing to gain from that outside of just making people miserable because you can.

I tend to view the GamerGate explanation about JewWario's firing announcement with a bit of skepticism personally. This whole fallout has revealed a lot of people covering their ass and not mentioning the predatory behavior to fans is one thing, but not to producers, even when they were doing tributes to Justin?
Not revealing his activities because certain people might use it to attack/harass may have been a factor, but I have extreme doubt it was the primary one.

I'm not questioning what group it was, I'm questioning that was Channel Awesome's primary motive for not revealing Justin's actions. There's no way of knowing for sure what was going on in their mind, but very little of their decisions as revealed thus far have suggested a selfless attitude towards people being victimized. |

The question is; how many like just him versus those that followed Channel Awesome? If they preferred Doug, more than likely they may look at this & go "So what?" People who watch the channel for him, Tamara, etc, who never kept up with affiliates, some of them may not even know about this. I've actually been asked by a handful of people, even now, what all is going on. If someone doesn't ever read comments, and those people exist, then there's a decent chance they could be ignorant of it for quite a while. I can vouch for this. I go to CA solely for Doug's videos. If it wasn't for this thread, I would have no idea any of this was going on. |

The whole ownership of CA is news to me since this fracas went down - I honestly thought Doug & Rob as the guys who ran the whole thing, had no idea there was a separate CEO who was making life shit for others. |
