Allison Pregler posits that it's probably just CA rebranding as just straight up calling the channel Nostalgia Critic, since there's no group to speak of. I suppose I can't argue with that, given the "brand" has no real value, but Nostalgia Critic still does.

So the one person left that people wanted to hear something from is Spoony. Well, someone asked him about the whole situation and he said the following on Twitter.
"I have no idea what's transpired the past few months. I don't want to know. Whatever "sides" have sprung up, I want nothing to do with any of them. This is your fight and I'll have no part of it. I just want to make people laugh.
I will have no further comment on the matter."
So there's that.

I find it more evasive than mature, but that's probably all he can reliably handle, going by his past. He's not really any use to anyone if he throws another tantrum and gets banned from twitter again, or scares off more of his patrons.

He did a live stream on the anniversary of JW’s death playing Final Fantasy IX, a game he has never played nor had any interest in because JW liked it. During the stream, he mentioned that he can’t really play the Monster Hunter series anymore because they played them together a lot. |

So I guess the "Doug quit" talk is dead, as CA posted 2 new Infinity War related videos featuring him and Rob over the weekend.
Bleh. I finally unsubscribed, all this has just taken my desire away from watching most of these reviewers now.... you just can't have nice things.

The fact that Twitter comment is even slightly subdued and coherent means that they've likely found the right chemical cocktail to keep his darker side in check. Not saying I'm a fan of his anymore, but his comment to not comment any further speaks volumes of the changes IMO. |

Anyone discover or rediscover any channels during the fallout from all this? Been watching a shitload of PushingUpRoses, who I had somehow missed out on seeing during her tenure (well, not surprising. CA was not very good for helping people not get lose in the shuffle or showcasing newcomers). I've really enjoyed her stuff, though, quite a nice backlog to go through.
Also been watching Marzgurl, who I had been a fan of but kinda lost track of for a while. Watching Allison, too, largely Obscurus Lupa stuff I missed the first go-round. I like what she's doing nowadays more, but it's fun to see her roots.
This whole business does suck, but there's been a definite silver lining to it, too.

I always thought she was pretty okay. I can't help but be disappointed by her stuff, because I grew up on exactly the same kinds of games she did, so I'm really hungry for videos about them. But hers aren't very funny or deeply informative. They're definitely worth watching, but I probably enjoy them a little less than I would if it weren't for that. |
