Wasn’t the story always the the only doctors that wouldn’t clear Bryan, were ones employed by WWE? If that’s the case, and with what this doctor is saying, the “WWE only sidelined Bryan so he wouldn’t overshadow Roman” theories are only going to become more prevalent. I mean, no sign of brain damage is pretty incredible. And from what I understand, there’s no cure for CTE. Once you have it, you have it. It’s just all rather curious. He just happens to get cleared before the biggest show of the year, in a year when his contract is up. Not says I 100% believe this. But I certainly don’t dismiss it. I got the same vibe from this. Not only was he cleared before Mania, but also shortly before his contract is up where he would have almost certainly wrestled elsewhere. Bryan got what he wanted, and what he deserved if the risk of coming back isn’t as bad as first speculated, but this reeks of the WWE working in their own self interest. For whatever reason.

Cena the other day said on TMZ that Bryan of all people is healthier than most WWE superstars and the issue is making people understand that. The moment I heard that it really made me think. God bless Bryan but we also need to get these others who aren't as healthy as Bryan checked immediately. If people are this worried about Bryan then ok, he's good to go now. Let's worry about these others. Sounds to me like they need doctors more than he does. I'm convinced if we saw the same stringent tests that Byran has gone through applied to the rest of the roster we'd be seeing plenty of forced retirements. A ton of guys are working banged up and it's to a point where whenever someone gets injured they heal from everything damaging them rather than just the major injury that took them out. It makes me think of Ambrose given he's been working non-stop since his indy days. I wonder what condition he'll be in when he returns given that's over 8 years of non-stop work.

Bryan got what he wanted, and what he deserved if the risk of coming back isn’t as bad as first speculated, but this reeks of the WWE working in their own self interest. For whatever reason. I think the most likely scenario is Bryan forced the issue and backed WWE into a corner. First, with the concussion lawsuit in the middle of its death rattle there's less pressure on WWE. Second, his contract is up soon and I'm sure he told them he'd be returning to action, almost certainly with New Japan, who would reap the financial rewards. As attractive as the possibility of dream matches with Omega, Okada, etc. are, it would require him to be away from his daughter for weeks at a time, so I expect he told WWE that he would give them priority if they reviewed his case, and then asked for recommendations for the top neurodoctors in the country. If WWE refused, he goes to New Japan and the indies, makes himself and those companies a pile of money, and WWE look bad while also losing a star who draws. So yeah, there's definitely an element of self interest on their part, but probably not in any nefarious way.

They have Kurt Angle wrestling matches and that dude can’t even stand up straight anymore.

At what point is "no evidence of brain damage" not the definitive threshold? These three doctors just made Maroon look like a quack, and WWE idiots for employing him. I wouldn't go that far (even if I'm no fan of him either). If anything, I'd say this falls under misdiagnosis, which does happen unfortunately. They took the words of certain studies and, combined with his history of lying about concussions in the past (and the ramping up of that concussion case headed by former workers), spooked both the WWE and Maroon most likely. I'm no expert, but incidentally the place I've been working at the last year or so helped me understand that medical terminology can be somewhat vague from time to time. Case in point, the term "lesion" does not actually mean physical damage such as a cut, but is used as an all-encompassing term that identifies something is there. In this case, what I've read is that he had a slower reflex compared to other athletes tested in the same way. Also, bear in mind that DBD isn't the first guy who has used hyperbaric oxygen therapy to treat his brain injuries (lesions by medical definition are not cuts, simply that something is there). There were stories in the past about several people being able to successfully reverse brain damage using the same method (the very reason why Bryan started doing it), and as a result of him being a case that likely wasn't as bad to begin with, he's in even BETTER condition than many of his peers as a result of undergoing these processes. This would definitely lead to the credence that John Cena called him "the healthiest guy in the WWE right now". I'm sure as a fan, many hate the fact he lost two years off the prime of his career. On the other, the WWE as a company never abandoned him from a financial and business perspective, and while likely working in their best interest by keeping him out of action during the timeframe, is doing the right thing by letting him wrestle yet again. I'd rather they'd have been wrong and he be healthy than be proven right and have him jeopardize his health in the ring (see the staph infections of the past). *** EDIT: I also wanted to add a bit more to my previous post: bear in mind that Bryan openly admitted to having seizures and memory loss, and the was also losing strength in his neck, back, and arm due to severe nerve damage. These all were addressed with therapy and the aforementioned hyperbaric treatments. Let's not just assume the "no brain damage" thing was the only reason why the WWE refused to clear him from a medical perspective. I just want to say that this was a good post that took a more in-depth look at the issue and more folks should read it.

I believe that Bryan is healthy but I don't wanna see another diving headbutt. From him or anyone else.

I originally thought this was a DOCTOR WHO thread, lol, found it from stalking my friends posts on here haha!
I should clarify DOCTOR WHO is what caught my eye, but I did notice the rest of the topic title shortly after.
