Even ignoring Virgil's descent into desperate hustling, most of the "important" part of his career consisted of him being the silent brute just standing next to one of the best workers and talkers in the business and occasionally taking a bump. Until the angle where he turned on DiBiase in '91, he was a prop. And his popularity from that angle lasted, what, a year?
Absolutely no way.

WWE has a figure of him, with his infamous "wrestling superstar" sign. I would imagine he isn't going into the hall of fame, too soon.

He's actually had more of a Hall of Fame career than a number of people in the WWE Hall of Fame.
He had a prominent role in Wrestlemania and Summerslam main events, a prominent role in the huge Hogan/Andre title change at The Main Event, he's had a high profile singles matches at Wrestlemania and Summerslam. Not a bad career really.

Ted DiBaise's price for inducting him, make DiBiase look like dollar store in comparison!

If he does, he can change his sign

Supposedly the payoff for the Hall of Fame is $5,000.
That could be a decent amount of f*** money.

He was at ringside for one SummerSlam main event, in '88, and did nothing of note.

I think virgil in his delusional mind thinks he is over and popular with his antics. but truth is people are not laughing with him they are laughing At him. People like him Marty Jannetty and Brian Knobbs are a disgrace to this industry

Virgil might be the most pathetic figure without any redeeming qualities who never drew a nickel in the history of wrestling. Let's be serious, his career is just an inside joke towards Dusty and McMahon. The guy is worthless. When he FINALLY got fed up with Ted Dibiase and stood up for himself in a match against the Million DOllar Man (With the help of Roddy Piper) that angle got a pretty good crowd reaction. His heat cooled off pretty quickly afterwards, but he still had at least that one moment in the sun. Virgil did have that for 1991-heat standards, but Virgil is still somehow the LEAST Hall of Fame deserving "Put upon lackey finally is fed up and comes into his own to beat up their overbearing overlord." Daniel Bryan is a HOFer when he retires, of course. Damien Sandow was a memorable gimmick, and he did have MITB once and was "first to lose a called-in cashin", he could possibly go in one year. Hell, even Alex Riley has a puncher's chance just due to his role in GLOW. Virgil isn't even as Hall of Fame-worthy as Alex Riley. That should SAY SOMETHING.

The HOF will never be credible until he's inducted.

Not including his real life antics, the Virgil character is one of the more memorable from an era of memorable characters. His pink suit was awesome and who didn’t love seeing him get his ass kicked? His mannerisms around Ted were always great too.
That said, I don’t think he’ll get in anytime soon if ever, because he’s such a huckster in real life.

Lest we forget how Virgil was in the ring with all of the greats of his day, and how he kicked so much ass. Let him in I say.

You honestly think the likes of Sandow and Riley should go into the Hall of Fame? Its suppose to be only for the elite of the elite, not everyone gets a trophy for participating

He wasn't horrible in his pre-WWF run, wasn't he Soul Train Jones in Memphis and/or Mid South? He manages to keep his name out there and wrestling fans who weren't even born when he was Virgil in WWF know who he is.

I think hundreds of current indy workers would settle for Virgil like career. Guy was a decoration on the every main stage for over 15 years playing with the big boys. Nobody wants to have Virgil's career. The dumb f*** negotiated less money with wcw just to appear on tv. A lot of "dumb f***" indie wrestlers took a pay cut to sign a developmental contract so they could maybe get on tv in a few years.

Young people know who Virgil is unfortunately for the wrong reasons thanks to Opie and Anthony also with the lonely Virgil website. I wouldn't want his legacy of being a joke.
