Good lord. This man is all over the place and his vision is all over the place also I just thought that you know... with how Batman acted throughout... oh THE ENTIRE MOVIE... it would have made much more sense for him to decide to become Murder Buddies with Superman... it'd have been better than them becoming buds because their moms have the same name.

It really is like we missed an entire entry in this series and the only person taht got to see it was Zack.

He compressed 7 hours worth of movie into 3 hours, which got further compressed into 2.5 hours. This should've been a trilogy of movies, but the squeezed every idea they had into 2.5 hours and f*** me does it show.

Given the Batman that's in the movie, that doesn't even make sense. Though to be fair to Zack, it looks like it's less that he actually said it, and more this fan spun off into silliness and Zack went: "yeah sure, I meant that too."

Though to be fair to Zack, it looks like it's less that he actually said it, and more this fan spun off into silliness and Zack went: "yeah sure, I meant that too." A series of tweets went viral a few weeks back. Some pretentious guy was going off about some right wing viewpoint he held, and used a Nietzsche quote to back it up. Someone replied that he had as much understanding of philosophy as LaCroix had flavour. Pretentious guy, not understanding the reference, then said he couldn't comment on that as he hadn't read LaCroix, but he was finding Nietzsche's writings "very flavourful", which led to a ton of people f***ing with him, recommending numerous "philosophers" he could read, like Perrier, Pellegrino, and Del Monte, and him trying to pass off that he'd read several of them. This is what Snyder's reminding me of. He's read a couple of Batman comics, and basing the rest off plot synopses on Wikipedia or has heard about from people who are clearly f***ing with him to give the impression he knows what he's talking about.

Batman: "Do you wanna go brutally beat a jaywalker to death?" Superman: "Yep!"

His best movies, Watchmen and 300, have been the ones where all he needed to do is literally film graphic novel panels without any of his own narrative input.

I was gonna say pretty much the same thing. Snyder copied the books almost frame for frame but still managed to make changes that ran completely counter to the points each book was trying to make. Snyder's two major faults are that he's completely unable to grasp the subtext of the material he's adapting and throwing stuff into his movies that makes absolutely no narrative sense because it looks cool.

God, that article is cringeworthy. It's ridiculous, the hold Zack Snyder has on the "ooh, a reference" crowd. Which only further justifies his rationale that Easter eggs can be a substitute for plot. Or proper foreshadowing. Or just good writing in general.

All of this other shit he's mentioning like Dick Grayson being the dead Robin is canon from his head only. He's trying to fill the gaps a of a universe with his own vision he wants

If you have to explain your joke, maybe you suck at telling them.
Or something like that.

instead he should have used the energy to make a movie that doesn't need to be hacked to bits to get into theaters and require a field reference guide to understand. It really is like we missed an entire entry in this series and the only person taht got to see it was Zack. If the only way to see the movie as he intended it is to be in his brain, I'm not prepared to make that sacrifice. On the other hand, I'm very happy for him to devote the rest of his life to explaining more and more obscure references that he vaguely thought about putting in this movie, if it keeps him from making any others.
