I feel like they could have done this a bit better during their months-long not-a-feud, but more pressingly my issue is just that I stanned Nakamura for months saying he was holding back and taking it easy but once he got into that Mania title match he'd show everyone he can still do the stuff he used to do. Then they had a wildly okay match and Shinsuke didn't impress at all, so I'm kind of bummed out and not feeling the dude right now heel or face. Yea, this is the first time where i'm like Shinsuke is not doing his thing like he should but also WWE has messed up a good thing I expect his heel turn to be very good he's not where I expected him to be nor has he performed as consist as you expect I was willing to overlook him losing to Jinder and just in general not trying to kill himself for a match where he had a partner who wasn't ever really going to keep up in-ring with his pace. But then he had AJ f***ing Styles with him in a Mania title match and honestly I think I like the match less than the f***ing Shane match from last year. Shinsuke's either too worn down or he's just coasting. And I'm not sticking up for someone who's lazily pissing all that potential away.

Instantly was the most authentic he's ever come across to me. That he's been such an unlikable douche in this feud probably helps. Which in theory helped foreshadow the heel turn but still I guess something doesn't sit right with me that they set this big match up only for an angle

I like it a lot. Going by what I've read on here Nakamura was a heel for most of his career before WWE.
Only thing I would've changed was I would've had Nakamura go ballistic on AJ with a chair or something like Austin at WM X7 to win and turn heel that way.

In fairness of tonight I think they were told to hold back due to this whole thing just being a set up for an angle but still WWE has to be aware of these things Shinsuke has not looked great so in these instances you have to make him stand out outside of his own charismatic nature. You risk people of tuning out his matches because they know it will be okay at best

If they keep AJ on SDL again, which would honestly kinda surprise me, he and a heel Nakamura can have a hell of a feud with this that leads to the all-time classic they're capable of having. This thing has legs to it. Maybe. Nak has a lot to prove that he is capable of having great matches in the WWE.

Like this was f***ing Wrestlemania and before Bryan's comeback this was my most hyped match, and it was less exciting to behold live than my friend beside me desperately trying to hit on a girl via text and bombing miserably.

For instance Christian/Orton had a lot of good matches even though they needed to plan out 5? world title matches together.

This match should have been his coming out party and they blew it on all fronts. The match wasn't any good and then the f***ing guy turns afterwards like "wtf else am i supposed to do lol"

Yea this wasn't great Imo the match wasn't bad but the crowd not being hot didn't help it which is why I wanted this match earlier in the show They kept building this as a dream match and it will be a classic. What we got was a good match but nowhere near a classic. Like I said I guess it doesn't sit right because this whole thing seemed to be a set up for an angle

This was a good match and more crowd participation would have made it better but they fell way short of expectation

I had predicted that Styles would retain, I just had that feeling going into the event that if was a forgone conclusion that Reigns was dethroning Lesnar(which, clearly it wasn't), it just seemed that Styles was destined to retain.
However, I did not see the heel turn coming, but I cannot be happier with how it was executed and it's reinvigorated Nakamura's character, and I look forward to seeing how their fued continues to develop. I feel like heel Shinsuke Nakamura as champion on "Smackdown" could be good business, invitably building up to John Cena getting his win back and breaking Ric Flair's world championship record at SummerSlam or Survivor Series.

It kind of felt like Jericho vs Punk at WM. Was fine match but people expected a bit more. I am sure we will eventually get a gimmick match like a last man standing which will give Styles and Nak a lot more to be creative/do big spots.

If it felt like Jericho/Punk at WM, I wonder if that means AJ vs. Nak is going to end up becoming my favorite match at the show.

SD has turned both Zayn and Nakamura heel this year That shit seemed impossible at one point I think that is the only way they really know how to push babyfaces. Turn them heel so in 24 months so when they turn back they get bigger reactions. It seems the WWE is struggling with building a babyace without turning them. I imagine Balor is next.

Well Balor I have no problem with as I think his heel turn is needed and has been sort of on the cusp I was listening to Austin and Bret on Edge and Christian podcast the other day and they talked about how your heel turn is always there to set up your big money face run but in some instances they do this shit on a whim and while Zayn has been great as a heel and Shinsuke will to, sometimes it feels like they are throwing shit at a wall and hope it sticks

For the first time since midway through his NXT run when I soured on him, I care again. I've almost given up on good matches again, but I'm very interested to see how his whacky mannerisms convert to the heel side of the spectrum.
Also, do we get EVIL (indeed) music now?
