It kind of felt like Jericho vs Punk at WM. Was fine match but people expected a bit more. I am sure we will eventually get a gimmick match like a last man standing which will give Styles and Nak a lot more to be creative/do big spots. I thought about comparing them but it falls into a weird territory. That was also a match they sold as the absolute two best going at it that wound up being pretty meh, but in that case it was less about never kicking into gear and more about the fact the first half of it was Punk making pouty faces while Jericho yelled for him to get DQed.

Yea and that match did have a clear heel vs face set up unlike Styles/Nak. I just feel unless the 2 people in the program are two of the best wrestlers in the WWE (HBK/Angle at WM21 for instance) it's tough to build a dream match as the selling point of an angle.

Am I crazy or was that match just not that good? I'm gonna have to watch it again. I don't know. This show was very fun but Charlotte/Asuka was about the only match that felt like a contest to me. It didn't feel like there was much of a story to the match. Then it ended before it felt like they really got anywhere.

The match was 20 minutes of build and then instead of hitting a climax it just stopped. Perfectly acceptable Raw match but nowhere close to what they were selling it as.

Nakamura is a natural heel. It’s the role he created his character in. f*** the rockstar, give us the King of Strong Style and win the WWE Championship that way.

I'm fine with this. Smackdown, land of the heel.

I don't 'get' Nakamura so I'm hoping this heel turn can get me interested in him.

AJ's body language after winning was pretty much daring him to do something. The posing while Shinsuke is showing the subservient side was a Dick move, and Nak let him know that wasn't cool.

I'm fine with this. Smackdown, land of the heel. I've said it before and will say it again - everyone on Smackdown is a heel.

(I'm looking at a Diesel-type of turn circa 1996. "Those wearing the black gloves gold goggles are with me. The rest of you can stick it.")

Minoru was actually at Mania, can you imagine is reaction to Nak's heel turn?

I was just tired by the time AJ and Nak came on. It was like what 9? I had been watching since 4.
Nak has yet to come close to his match in NXT with Sami Zayn. That was a "this is why I love wrestling" match.

I'd prefer he not be a heel, especially with Road Dogg in charge, but whatever.

We were watching the match thinking 'ok, this is building up really well, getting more and more energetic' then it got to the Styles Clash and pin and we just deflated. Then the heel turn happened and I realised we're getting the heroic redneck fighting the evil foreigner and just checked out. By the time Braun revealed there was no surprise partner we went to bed and felt no qualms about doing so.
