He had a whupping coming with his name on it.
Just weird seeing this happen to CENA. Dude got more offense in 2003 when he was a heel comedy rapper gimmick than he did here.

Glad they went that direction because he needed to be. Oh yeah he needed that ass whopping which is sort of the exclamation point on his sucky year At this point you wouldn't think this dude is one win away from breaking the "official" championship record held by Flair

Taker's been building his momentum meter since last year's show and showed up with three finishers charged. Cena never stood a chance.

I'm cool with it because of all Cena's shit-talking, it's smart. Had Cena not done that I would have been pissed.

I feel like this was the best case scenario because as we all know, looks can be deceiving and even though the Undertaker looked great, I sincerely doubt he can still go in a fifteen minute match. I just feel like the flame burned out last year, and he just doesn't have the ability keep up with the workrate even in one-off, annual "Wrestlemania" appearances anymore. So, in the hindsight, the build for this was perfect, after weeks of dogging the Undertaker, talking about his wife and family, he got what he wanted... A match, but in return he also got the beating he should have expected as well.
At this point in John Cena's career, loses like the ones he's been accumulating since losing to Roman Reigns last fall don't hurt him, he's still going to break Ric Flair's world championship record and he's still a draw that can pop a rating, so storyline wise what happened tonight made perfect sense while also protecting the Undertaker.

I loved it, Cena was talking smack for weeks and seemed certain he was no showing. Then when he appeared, and looked as good as he had in years Cena poop the bed and Taker ruined him.

Taker might have looked better, but you could see in the few bumps he took that he was hurting. I honestly think this was John Cena being John Cena. He took the squash so that Taker could have a nice moment at Wrestlemania to send him off right. For as much shit as Cena gets, the guy cares about the business and respects it. I think Taker is done, and I expect some sort of retirement thing to happen in the next few months. He goes into the HOF as the headliner in NYC.

Maybe this is the new version of the Pete Rose/Kane bit?

Taker pulled off the Tamina Special, and made John Cena look like Ellsworth.

I’m just glad Taker had a match that didn’t send him to the hospital afterwards. Seems like it’s been awhile.

If they need to do this to protect Taker, just let the guy retire please.

Cena can sell fear great, which makes it a shame he doesn't often get a chance to do so. He can also be pretty damn generous, between this and some of his Brock matches. I know, it was awesome. This whole build I wanted to see Cena get his ass beat for what a self-centered little shit he was and how much he was disrespecting Taker acting like he was owed the time of day then the moment comes and Taker terrifies him then effortlessly destroys him. Honestly, it's the Undertaker. Cena was on the kinder side of guys picking 'Mania matches with him, and after every "I'm going to feud with the concept of John Cena!" style feud he's had, he's owed one.

The entrance is still cool, but I'm beyond done with Taker. This match should've been done at Mania years ago, now it just seems pointless even if there's a rematch.
Would've preferred for Cena to be used against Balor and put him over in a good little 15-20 minute match.

The buildup was basically asking for Cena to get his ass kicked so it actually made sense. Surprised they actually did it though.

Props to Cena for being unselfish and accepting this.
