Joe Russo confirmed in a Q&A: - Thanos allowed half the Asgardians to leave in escape pods - Valkyrie is leading those survivors- what happened to Korg and Miek is for Taika Waititi to decide - the destruction of Xandar was cut from the script early on for reasons of pacing and repetitiveness That's two nice bits of info Allows Thor to continue his story in another movie to help them find a home and I like Valkyrie is still alive

I think Avengers 4 is going to be my jumping off point for the MCU franchises. I've loved the movies (even some of the ones people take huge shits on), but it's all become a bit much to think of and follow and I think this will be a good point for people to get in or out of the movies. If this series is a pain to follow you'd hate Kingdom Hearts. I do hate Kingdom Hearts.

But didn't know about Valkyrie. We didn't see her body, so I hoped, but glad to hear 100%. Would've really been a waste of that character.

If this series is a pain to follow you'd hate Kingdom Hearts. If you listen to the kids now they think it's easy because they got a damn Wiki to follow the story now They need reference though. I know it off the top of my head. I don't know why I'm proud of that.

Loved it.
UK crowds are generally not known for noise at cinemas but our theatre (Midday on a Wednesday so not exactly full) had its greatest reaction to the 10 second pause while everyone processed "Kicking names and taking ass"
Also though only about 5 of us actually caught it after the Captain Marvel stinger, the "Thanos will return" card got a decent laugh because I guess everyone like me interpreted it as a "yeah well there's noone else left" black comedy gag.

when Thor said “ What more do I have to lose” that line really pulled at the heart strings, Hemsworth really delivered that perfectly. Loved Thor in this movie. We saw Hemsworth's jocular side shine in Ragnarok, but he showed that he can damn well act too. We also found out that he's 1500 years old. Think about that. With how he has to perceive time, the events of the MCU have to feel more like a few chaotic weeks to him. Which makes him losing his father, being forced to kill his sister, and seeing his brother and best friend brutally murdered in front of him feel like a matter of hours. He sold that anguish so well. So, like the MCU version of Marylin Manson's month last year where he got flattened by a stage prop, found out his best friend and longest running bandmate was a rapist, then his dad died?

Looking at Cheadle and Ruffalo, I wonder if Terrence Howard and Ed Norton are like f*** why didn't we just continue. I think Norton stopped due to creativity differences but Howard was being a headache as usual I bet they’re both kicking themselves in the ass for not sticking around. With Terrence's ego, I imagine he'd choose being the star of Empire over being a bit player in a billion dollar franchise any day.

Warning: will murder your speakers/headphones. But goddamn. Again, ten years ago, I'd have never believed you if you told me this was a crowd's reaction to the Mighty Thor. The God of Thunder getting himself a Daniel Bryan-like pop there. It's like midway through the movie, the Russos remembered they had Drax for the funny behemoth quota and had Thor kicking ass.

Man, I wish, but She Hulk is a whole tangled up rights situation worse than Hulk, IIRC. Good point made on the Super Best Friendcast podcast yesterday - GotG2 establishes, in what was then a pretty awesome way, that Quill reacts very quickly to emotional heartache. When Ego told him about his mother, it was blamblamblamblam within a second, no time wasted talking. What happens in IW fits Quill's character to a tee, even if it can be frustrating to viewers. Besides, hey, Strange could've stopped him if he wanted. If he wanted. *meaningful look* She Hulk can show up in Avengers 4 no problem, it’s just a Hulk movie that Universal would get the rights to. Besides, after what happened, the first thing everyone is going to do is check on their families, logically, Bruce is going to make finding out if Jen is okay a high priority.

If you have to explain something that isn't in the film, you should have simply kept it in the film in the first place to avoid the problem.

Just some extra information they couldn't fit in the film, a few titbits that are cool to confirm but wouldn't have really added anything to the story besides like they said disrupt pacing. None of what they said is integral to the story. We were told that Xandar was destroyed, and were familiar enough by the end of the movie with Thanos' twisted logic to know that half the Asgardians would've been spared.

Pretty much, and Thor outright says later on that Thanos slaughtered half his people. The Russos haven't explained a plot point, they've just expanded on a perfectly functional existing one. We don't need to know how half the Asgardians survived for the plot to make sense, just that they did.

The question is, did half of those spared Asgardians still disintegrate at the snap?
Come to think of it, were those who disintegrated and those who spared a conscious effort by Thanos? Or was it just pure random, literally half the universe gets it and half doesn't?

I took it as completely random, because if it was a conscious effort by Thanos then surely you kill all the Avengers and GOTG just to ensure that there's nobody who tries to reverse the process. Unless they decide to go the comic book route where Thanos always allows a weak spot because he feels he doesn't deserve so much power.

I also took it as random because, well, he already did the effort with the universe so why lower the numbers more and have less people to thank you for the job you did? I do like the other option, though, and it suits the character they’ve built for Thanos now.

Can we please make Invisible Drax/Batista in general a meme similar to You Can’t See Cena?
Also My favourite line exchange;
Cap: New haircut?
Thor: I see you’ve copied my beard, this is my friend, Tree.
Groot: I am Groot!
Cap: I, am Steve Rogers.

We were supposed to be wondering what happened to them, it’s not like we don’t know we’re getting sequels. I’m guessing the fact that they openly answered the question about Valkyrie means it’ll be addressed pretty early in A4 -The destruction of Xander was blatantly explained in the movie

In Zach Snyder's Defense: His movie was cut to pieces and cobbled back together as a far off vision of what he intended. Also, I don't know why HE'D have to explain plot points unless it was on a film that wasn't Justice League. In Rian Johnson's Defense: I won't defend him at all. Last Jedi's plot points were clear, but garbage.

Facebook friends are mourning Loki.
Screw Loki, dude led an invasion ino New York that killed untold numbers and wrecked the city.
His own greed led him to take the Tesseract from Asgard when Surtur could have destroyed it. Thanos doesn't get the gauntlet if Loki just leaves it there. He's complicit for everything after.
Don't care how dreamy Hiddleston is, he deserves what he got haha.
