Would have made more sense for Carmella to get disqualified or cheat to win because her beating Charlotte via roll up was too unbelievable, especially when you saw what you went through to beat Asuka.
I'm not sure who else Carmella can even feud with afterwards.
The women's division continues to go back to diva mode with having non wrestlers take up more time. They should have kept the Riott Squad on Smackdown quite frankly.

I don't think it's a Charlotte thing or a Carmella thing.
It's more of a 'WWE doesn't know how to book women's matches in ways that reflect their character and the stories they're in' thing.
Which is the whole reason Charlotte, Becky, Sasha and Bayley got over in the first place. That rarely ever happens on the main roster.

This is the built-in problem with using the Money in the Bank gimmick to push newer Superstars. Eventually you have to pull the trigger and either put the strap on the Briefcase holder, or have them lose the MITB cash-in and pretty much end their career as any kind of credible threat forever.
They wanted Carmella built up as a threat, so she gets fed not only the woman who pinned Asuka clean, but also the Women's title in a rematch with a clean victory. They waited till after WrestleMania to pull the trigger which was a good call, and I'm just treating Carmella's current run as them 'setting the deck' since this is the beginning of the WWE 'season' again as the first co-branded PPV of the new 2018 era.
Kinda the same thing with Big Cass going up against Daniel Bryan as DB's first real singles opponent after his return-- we all know Cass isn't in Bryan's league and nobody really wants to see this feud. But it's setting the stage for what will come next for Bryan. Can't have dream match booking all the time if you want to sell Summerslam/WrestleMania tickets later in the year.
Also, Cass and 'Mella are Jersey kids, so they get to have favorable booking against their betters for at least one show.

I loved it, Carmella is much more entertaining than Charlotte.

Charlotte is one of the least sportsentertaing people on the roster when she is a face,I really do not mind her losing in the manner she did since it will just help Mella become more credible when she eventually drops the title to Asuka.

Charlotte is very much one of the wrestlers that wrestles as good as her opponent.
she can have good matches against good ones and great ones against great ones
but she is not able to carry a decent wrestler to a good-great match. (I say decent because Carmella isn't completly f***ing awful she's not Rosa Mendes, but she's not particularly good either)
They have a bunch of women that can but Charlotte is not one of them, it's really noticeable with her because they try to position her as the figurehead of the women's division.

Charlotte stylistically is miscast as a babyface IMO. I want to see her working as a slower paced heel cutting off Becky Lynch hope spots/gloating to the crowd etc. Having her work babyface against someone who she looks like she would completely overwhelm doesn’t play to her strengths IMO.
Carmella really shouldn’t be on TV in any major role right now.

Carmella's character work is pretty on point, albeit standard cowardly heel shtick. I dig her has a personality.
She probably could stick her tongue out less.
The wrestling was meh.

The annoying part is that she was doing well and getting good face reactions during the build-up to this feud (including last week's 6-woman tag), but the crowd was dead for last night's match as soon as Carmella entered.

(I still maintain Asuka winning at Mania would have been even worse, as it would have been her taking these losses instead.) And ultimately, even though some of the decisions bugged me, nobody's going to remember this night in a few months when both Bryan and Charlotte have prominent matches at Summerslam.

It was a poor match as Carmella brought nothing and Charlotte didn't really seem motivated enough to carry her. I like her but Carmella just isn't title material as she's never been good in the ring and actually has seemed to regress. Getting rid of Ellsworth also didn't help as he was the most interesting part of her act.

Second to her NXT title match with Bayley, that's probably Carmella's best match....which is a pretty good indicator that she should not be champion.
The video promo before the match was wonderful, she's great at her character, but she just can not back it up in the ring. She's not a disaster (she's no Rosa Mendes), but this is the most talented roster of women the WWE has ever had, and what Carmella can bring is just not good enough. Make her a manager or mouthpiece for someone who lacks charisma, because she can bring that, but this was a big chance for her and she flopped.
The match was poorly laid out, but I thought Alexa/Nia was worse in that respect. Long rest holds are not fun though; matches can (and should) be padded out in other ways. A lot of people had a problem with the ending, saying Carmella beat Charlotte clean, but she had an out...she tweaked the knee and Carmella immediately took advantage. I don't think that's a bad story to tell, but I'll probably have to agree to disagree with a lot of people out there.

I'm interested to see how they play SDLive, since on Talking Smack Carmella was just uber-obnoxious and literally kept saying "I beat Charlotte Flair!" over and over again for what seemed like years. Right now since she's coming off her biggest win of her career, and in the pole position to become another "Edge"-type ultimate opportunist heel... who she feuds with next is gonna be key to keep that gimmick going as Edge also won a lot but used Eddy Guerrero-type lying-cheating-stealing-tactics to do it. They need this type of heel and Carmella can probably get good heat doing it, but I just wish SDLive got to use Eva Marie for this gimmick instead because in retrospect Eva did Carmella's current gimmick a thousand times better with incredible heel heat.

Its interesting in retrospect how much of the first few weeks of the post-2016-draft SDL women's division was dedicated to Eva, and how entertaining it was. Continuously charismatic, indeed.

Some of her heel stuff worked, but when they had her playing the coward while being a head taller than some of the girls, it didn't really make sense or work. She also cut some REALLY bad promos as a heel some nights, often yelling for no reason or fumbling over her lines. She seems like someone who really needs to find her right balance.
