"Hey, you know whose fault it is, that your favorite wrestler got bought out? The company he was working for, cause they were too cheap to pay him what he was worth. So he should get paid what he's worth, and if WWE comes and pays him what he's worth, that's on your sorry ass. Get the money right. And start paying these dudes."
"There are too many crazy talented dudes out there that aren't getting paid, and if you have a problem with WWE making those dudes rich, you can kiss my ass. 'Cause those dudes deserve to be rich, 'cause they're talented as hell."
"It's funny because people are like, 'oh, well that's kind of messed up,' No. No. That's how you win," Joe said. "That's why they're the number one company in the world. You go out there and you get the best dudes. You don't get mad at a tiger for being a tiger."

Joe's right and he's been saying what most of us have said regarding this. People know why they're in the WWE. These dudes out here trying to get paid. f*** all of your "well I wanna see 5 star matches send em back to the indies" bullshit, give em the f***ing DOLLA DOLLA BILL YALL that they came here for.

He sounds like a bit of an ass when he says it, but absolutely nothing he said is wrong.

I’m all for wrestlers getting paid as much as they can, while they can. But saying companies don’t keep they’re talent, because they’re “too cheap” sounds like an oversimplification. When it comes down to money, there’s not a wrestling company in the world, that can compete with WWE. And it’s unrealistic to expect them to.

I have a lot of respect for people who are in this for the money and then get out on their own terms. It’s funny how those guys are usually branded as bad guys (Brock, Goldberg, etc) but it’s simply knowing your value and not settling for less. Any successful person will tell you time is worth more than money. Lesnar gets it. The others don’t have much of a choice but when Seth Rollins described all the places he had worked the only thing I thought was “I hope he’s a millionaire”. That’s way too much time wasted for anything less than that especially given the toll it takes on the body.

I'm 100% for guys getting as big a pay day as possible. I'm going to miss Ricochet, for example, like crazy from his spots in Lucha Underground and companies like New Japan, since I'm not going to follow him to WWE. But the guy's likely going to get a really big pay day soon, and good on him for it, his life and the well-being of his family is much more important than my tastes and wants as a fan.
That said, Joe, I love ya, but you know why there are so many underpaid wrestlers out there, and why those other companies are "too cheap" to pay them what they're worth? Because the WWF/E has spent 30+ years salting the Earth for the vast majority of the rest of the industry in the US and Canada, and yeah, it's business and if Vince hadn't done it in the 80s then somebody else would have, but that doesn't make it cool, either.
...that said, Joe was also coming from late-Dixie era TNA when he got to WWE, so I'm guessing he's particularly amped up when discussing stuff like this and it's tough to blame him.

So how many fans will Samoa Joe lose for saying this (and by the way, I agree with him entirely)?

Then there's the other side of it, where a lot of guys will work for free just for the exposure. That makes it harder for the guys who should get paid to get work.

I don't think he'll lose any fans because let's face it, we all want to be paid the best we can be in whatever we do in life. However, it is a shame that there is only one viable company where someone like Samoa Joe can get paid what he feels he is worth in the Western world.

I can count on one hand the times I got paid in nearly 7 years of wrestling. I haven't made much either - my best night included winning a 50/50 at an event after the wrestling show
