Well I had issues with the Sonic model in still life. After seeing it in motion... I can't think of any way they could have got him to look worse short of accidentally making him green.
The spines just look to be constantly at awkward angles, the face is... Uncanny. Knowing that Sega are perfectly capable of making models that look perfect no matter where you look at them from, it.. it hurts to look at.

Doesn’t look as bad as I thought, but that’s still not very encouraging. Jim Carrey will probably be the saving grace of this, even if he winds up being Ace Ventura 2.0.

Good god that looks visually utter crap.
In this day and age with SFX at an all time high and Detective Pikachu looking like a story that takes place in game, there is zero excuse for not being source faithful. Sonic looks like he is wearing a onesie and Robotnik is just jim carrey with sunglasses and a moustache!?

I just hope Jim Carrey gets to make the movie watchable, dont want his career to end up like Adam Sandler. He's got a series on Netflix that I've heard is really good, so there's that going for him. |

Wait 'til the very end..... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}  You don't have to watch the movie now. They spoiled the one thing the audiences would have wanted to see. I kinda wanted the Movie to start with full Eggman like that but having flashbacks on how Sonic made him what he is today. That would been neat. |

Should the have used His World in the trailer? I was going to ask that.Sonic is a franchise that their songs are universally procalimed as fun,good and standing out. Why not try to follow the same genres and style? Gangster Paradise is an awesome song but its not really...Sonic. |

Jim Carrey doesn't really *feel* like Robotnik; he kinda comes off as Jim Carrey with a mustache. Maybe that's how you play a live action Robotnik and I guess he can be that way in the games, but I don't know. Feels like a mix of "phoning it in" and "pointless cash-in on a franchise people know". Also, his assistant calling someone basic is making me think this is gonna be Emoji Movie levels of bad. It's basically like how his Riddler in Batman Forever was just basically "90s Jim Carrey as a supervillain". |
