It’s a kids movie... it’s the same Rocky and Bullwinkle crap, Alvin and the Chimpmonks, Smurfs, Yogi Bear, Woody Woodpecker, Hop (James Marsden makes some terrible career choices) But seriously what were you guys expecting a live action adaptation of Sonic Saturday morning?
That’s awful is the next video that played had Rocket Raccon in the thumbnail. The difference in quality is jarring.

...Is it bad that I'm kind of hoping that Jim Carrey calls the lackey who's with him in the trailer "Snively" at some point?

I really didn’t think it was that bad a trailer. I’m not gonna run out the door to see it, but I’ll probably check it out at some point

Since in this movie, Sonic is some weird space hedgehog aliens. Does that mean Sonic is officially part Saiyan? ...and now I'm picturing Super Sonic in the climax, and my mind goes screwy. |

I'm not sure what anyone expected; and before anyone brings up the comics, that's a very very small portion of people familiar with Sonic the Hedgehog. It's Sonic the Hedgehog, the franchise is made up of one dick step after another after another.

I'm sorry but that Sonic design just looks stupid.
Honestly if instead of being blue he was orange or something, I'm not even sure people would know it was supposed to be Sonic. It's just some furry cute thing that happens to be blue.

I'm in. Looks like harmless fun. I mark for Jim Carey and comparatively looks better than other children's adaptations like live action Aladdin (based on trailers alone)

Eh, if Sega had any interest in protecting their IP, it’d have been a bit loyal to the source material but by all accounts, Sega was cashing in and just had to accept what happened from that. It’s why we got Detective Pikachu and not “The first adventure of Ash and Pikachu” that Warner Bros wanted because The Pokémon Company were like “Well, this would make MUCH more sense as a movie”. It’s also why Shigeru Miyamoto is probably slapping every person at Illumination that suggest Mario farts. |

I just wanna know what they were thinking using Gangsta's Paradise in the trailer? I mean I love the song but would any pop-punk song make more sense for Sonic?

I guess I'm in agreement with most of the internet that Sonic's design is not good. He looks like a guy in a bootleg Halloween costume. That said though, everything else in that trailer looked great. If the rest of the movie is like the trailer, I might be able to forgive Sonic looking a little wonky.

I want this movie to be inexplicably massively successful and lead into a bunch of other bizarre Sega adaptations with f***-all to do with the original. Give me Ecco as a lizard (still called Ecco the Dolphin), Bayonetta as a struggling lawyer, and whatever the hell a two hour American Persona would look like.
