Watching his segment in the UK Tournament, he comes out, the crowd's singing King of Kings. Anyone in the front row that wanted a high five got a high five, anyone who wanted a Too Sweet got a Too Sweet. Then he gets a mic and he just puts the building, the people, the wrestlers over.
Forgetting the corporate answers he gives in some interviews, forgetting that Roman was his handpicked choice (I very much doubt Roman's mishandling is his fault), I've just gotta say.
Hunter's just the f***ing man, and he's just a big a fan as we are. I forget sometimes why he was my favorite before Bryan came along.

I read the thread title as "Sometimes I Forget That H Is A Dude" and was wondering what made you come to that conclusion

Hhh is the biggest wrestling fan to ever become a wrestler. That's what seperates him from his perception.

I've lightened up on Papa H over the years. Haitch the performer was an self centered prick, but Haitch the business man has been a pleasure to watch. He just really needs a new Dusty Rhodes to help with characters and he'll be set for the long haul.

Trips is definitely a complicated guy. He's genuinely compassionate about the growth of the young wrestlers in NXT and he wants to see them succeed and make lots of money. If you think otherwise then you're kidding yourself.
On the other hand he's also ruthlessly competitive. Similar to what we've seen with how he conducted himself alongside his wrestling peers we're starting to see the same thing with his peers in the world of wrestling promotion. He wants to see the industry grow and see talented wrestlers succeed and get paid, but it also has to be under his guidance. He is such a huge fan of wrestling that he figuratively wants to become one with the industry. A lot of people are debating whether that's ultimately good or bad, I certainly don't know the answer to that, but so far he's been doing a lot of good for individual wrestlers trying to put food on the table even if it might slowly contribute to the WWE monopoly itself.

HHH is enjoying having his gigantic playroom, but he's never going to stop wanting new toys to put in it.

I momumentally disliked his booking as a full time talent back in the day, but I really love what Hunter is doing for wrestling fans nowadays. At the very least, it's great to have someone high ranking at WWE being open to signing people like Sami Zayn or Nakamura. Or even acknowledging that Kenny Omega and NJPW exists. What other high ranking hanger-on (Hayes,Dunn, etc) in WWE would be willing to show up at an indie show to put over Pete Dunne, the champion of a brand that would not even exist otherwise?
I know some people think Hunter is just doing smark fan service and is trying to sabotage the indies, but to me, he seems like he wants the best wrestling talent out there in WWE, on the biggest stage. He knows he has the corporate structure behind him, which allows him to do it, but I would rather live in his world, where I am can be watching Gargano and Ciampa headline a Takeover under the WWE umbrella, rather than Mr. Olympia from 2004 and Sylvain Grenier stink out the joint like they would be if other backstage people were in charge of the development brand.

We've come a long way from the days of Johnny Ace deciding where to put developmental based upon which trainer is closest to his favorite Strip Club.

Hunter is just someone who genuinely loves wrestling, and wants wrestling and WWE to succeed as much as possible. That extended to his work as a performer, hence why I've always been a fan of his. There were more athletic wrestlers, but he is a truly clever worker who knows how to get good stories with whoever he's paired with.
He's one of the best heels of all time, IMO.

Pre-quad tear, reign of terror HHH was that dude as well, in terms of bringing it in the ring. I actually think he had a better 2000 than Rock, even though The Rock was huge in 2000 and is my favourite of all time. HHH was also on fire in early 2001.

I love HHH and his ridiculous overblown ring entrances.
I love Cool Dad HHH, getting photos backstage with all the cool indie kids joining his NXT brand.
He appeared in Glasgow last time the WWE were touring, teaming with Seth and Dean and wearing the Shield gear. I f***ing marked HARD.
H is indeed that dude.
