Who groaned when they heard this live on Raw almost 7 years ago?
In the midst of the promo they decided to go "worked-shoot" mode.
Was this too much?

They should do this in every feud.
"This is Leati Anoa'i talking to Franklin Lashley."

I was fine with it personally because it's still within kayfabe that they use stage names sometimes.
One of Punk's best strengths I feel was these worked shoots that just barely fall in the lines of kayfabe and can be explained within the in-universe narrative still.
There's this sweetspot where he and Heyman (usually) knew where to fall into, as opposed to say late WCW that couldn't figure it out.

I liked it. The feeling I got was that the feud became more personal, so he resorted to personal names.

2011 was a bad year in the sense that the shooty bullshit we get now got a major start then.

That useless program killed the biggest babyface run in years, a run that received mainstream attention. Punk has every right to resent being fed to Triple H for nothing. The worst part was that Punk never got his win back.
Well at least it produced this line that probably still haunts Triple H to this day when Punk quit, "No offense but you need this match I don't. You need to work with me, I don't need to work with you."

I thought it was incredibly stupid.
Really in general I found Punk absurdly unlikable during that Triple H feud.
