If Yoda could do all that shit, why did he have a walking cane? The Force.

Yoda played into the "old man who can kick your ass" trope in that movie, and to a lesser extent in Episode III.

If Rey were Rey Mysterio instead, this would be the best reviewed film of the year. I guess he earned enough money from Spiderman: Far From Home And don't forget JOKER.

I presume most critics aren't hard core Star Wars nerds. It is hard to do. I have to think I still wouldn't like it. The acting is fine, and the movie looks great with the exception of basically everything about Canto Bight and the throne room fight scene, but the writing is just so awful on a fundamental level. As a second movie in a trilogy and as a Star Wars movie it is even worse. I really don't understand the credit it gets for being daring. So much of it is warmed over Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Though I don't want to get off on a TLJ tangent when we have a new shitty Star Wars movie to talk about.

I will say if nothing else I do majorly object to... {Spoiler}The idea of Ben being redeemed at all, especially playing it in a romantic direction.
Really think the previous two movies took him way too far to be salvageable at this point. As written to this point he's been nothing but an irredeemable asshole and it's stupid as hell to backpedal on it.

This should lead to some painful full cast interviews where they have to act like, "Hey guys, it isn't that bad, really! Don't listen to the critics!"

Don’t wanna say it was painted on people’s faces but..the bad-talking about Rian/TLJ, Oscar and Boyega being straight up like “NOPE” bout continuing their characters runs on Disney+. It is what it is by now.

I have learned to approach these movies without any expectations. I just relax and try to enjoy what I get. The brilliance of the originals will never be diminished for me. I just came back from it and I had tons of fun. The space battles are as good as ever, the movie made me laugh, made me choke up and I walked out feeling good on money well spent. It could had some more levity in it and I still do not like the eventual fates of Luke, Han and Leia, but no real complaints. Then I did not see it from a high expection perspective or fandom point of view. I am sure it will not be liked by the nitpickers or hard core fans, but what Star Wars movie is?

If Yoda could do all that shit, why did he have a walking cane? The Force. More specifically, Lightsaber Form IV: Ataru. Literally the whole point of the form is to overwhelm the opponent using Force-embued acrobatics and swinging fast and hard to keep the opponent off-balance. It's terrible for more than single opponent, but definitely one they use quite frequently in the movies since it looks so flashy. ...damned if I don't want a video game that incorporates Lightsaber combat forms.

I'm sure one or both KOTOR games did. Possibly the Jedi Knight series too but it has been awhile since I played them.

Yeah, now that I think about it I think even the Old Republic MMO had forms as well. Guess what I'm saying is I want KotOR 3 already.

I'm pretty damn sure I'm going to enjoy The Rise of Skywalker, but the hyperbole some of these early reviews are using in their titles is kind of hilarious. Saw one on Forbes saying it's the worst Star Wars movie ever and now I'm wondering if there's another sand monologue because that's a mighty high bar to clear.

SWTOR and KOTOR2 do, but they're RPG's and the forms are really just stances that give passive buffs (and debuffs in KOTOR2's case) so not quite the visceral action or even different animation styles. Though in SWTOR you do get some saber combat abilities that show off flashier animations at least.
The Force Unleashed's main character also uses a specialized version of Form V: Shien as his saber combat style. Amusingly, the LEGO Star Wars games' saber animations reflect their characters forms. Like Dooku's got more of a fencing animation that reflects his expertise in Form II: Makashi. Yoda and the Emperor have acrobatic styles reminiscent of Form IV: Ataru. Obi-Wan's keeps his saber close to the chest with his defensive style in Form III: Soresu.
Closet games we've got that actually incorporate switching combat forms were Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. Though it wasn't actual forms so much as more generic Fast, Medium, and Strong ones.

I will say that Revenge of the Sith is the most underrated movies out of the franchise.
